Poll: What is your favorite poultry to eat?

Hard to choose between turkey and duck but i had to go duck. Never had goose, just it's liver *drool*

I've only ever had chicken and turkey...no real drive to try the others...I like chicken best. I'm pedestrian. :)

duck is wonderful. I just wish I had the chance to eat more of it.

i went with chicken. although one i've had that's not on the list is Pheasant. not my favorite.

Is Pheasant poultry? It is a game bird. Perhaps it is both? I don't really know.

poultry n. :Domestic fowls, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, or geese, raised for meat or eggs.

So game birds are distinct.

That doesn't make it domesticated. Another dictionary says that poultry is specifically the birds I mentioned. This is a distinction that goes back to the French and came to English with the Normans.

So depending on which dictionary you're using, duck and goose can sometimes not-be poultry, then?

No, all the polls I mentioned are always considered poultry. The only question is, is anything else poultry.

I find it amusing that the poll specifies 'to eat'. I wonder what everyone's favourite poultry to have as a pet is.
