Discussion: Do you think you're a good kisser?
Andrea Krause · 20 years, 11 months ago

I've been told good. I dunno. Unless they're liars that's the only way I'd know! :)

Erica: movin' to Ohio!! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
well, see that's the thing. somehow you'd seem like a totally self-posessed weenie if you say you're good. but if you go by what the kissee says, they could just be lying for the nookie. it's confusing. so, fwiw, i've never gotten a less than stellar report. lol.
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

heheh the only reason I even feel confident enough to give a "good I guess" is that one ex (who wasn't ex at the time) told me that he and another ex had actually discussed my skills and deemed them rather darn good. Heeee. Bizarre to even think about that convo. :) One can lie for the nookie but I'd hope one wouldn't make up a weird story like that!

Erica: movin' to Ohio!! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
yes'm, that WOULD be overkill. lol. my bird gives good kisses. a soft peck on the cheek, literally.
A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
The woman's got mad skillz!
Talcott · 20 years, 11 months ago
I should let the creator of the poll answer for me ;-)
Erica: movin' to Ohio!! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
well we know THAT'S going to be positive.
zil Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
dude. but if I answer will you know you are? ro will I just be saying that to ease your male ego? or will I be brutally honest? or will I be basicly telling the truth with a few embelishments? ... *evil* you'll never trust me again.
Talcott Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Hmmm... trisky zilphas
Phoenix · 20 years, 11 months ago
Were you distracted by kissing when creating this poll? if not, what's a insesitive clod?

*runs*
zil Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

josh makes some changes to polls... couldn't he have corrected my spelling?

dude.

and no I wasn't, its a shame really. :-)

soul groove feline · 20 years, 11 months ago
if you're referring to the type of kisses that are quick pecks on the lips and cheek... they're kind of difficult to be "bad" at, and i kiss many of my friends in that way, so i trust they'd tell me if it was an unpleasant thing...

alas, if you're referring to the prolonged kind wot uses tongues and varying degrees of slobber... i've only ever partaken in that activity once, and the recipient seemed to enjoy it... alas, i was a drippy giddy pile o' wormy at the time, so my judgement may have been skewed a bit. i'm not sure.

uh. meow.
100% dainty! · 20 years, 11 months ago
Up until last year, most of my kisses were stage kisses. Someone told me that every time we practiced, every time I had to kiss my leading man, he forgot his lines. heh heh. i guess that says something . . .
*joolee* · 20 years, 11 months ago
no one has ever told me I am or am not, and i don't think it's the kind of question i'd ask a person...i'll just assume i'm amazing. it's always a good assumption.
Starfox · 20 years, 11 months ago
My wife I'm the best kisser she's ever known. A previous girlfriend also thought I was a good kisser.

It's kind of a subjective determination though, dontcha think?
danced with Lazlo · 20 years, 11 months ago
No idea. Really.
dirty life & times Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
your new icon is cute!

that has nothing to do with anything.
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
I agree, just didn't know where to comment, and Renita has a new one too that is nifty.
A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
*kisses Gella's icon* That keeps us on topic. ;)
renita Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
thank you!
danced with Lazlo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
hee... thanks guyzes
Rimbo · 20 years, 11 months ago
Can I pick more than one? I mean, my wife says I'm the best kisser she's ever known. She was ecstatic that she didn't have to "train me." At the same time, I have hyperactive saliva glands, and while I try to control them, sometimes I drool all over her. Sexy.
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

On another, more sublimely disgusting note, I gleek like mad. You know, gleeking? When your saliva shoots out of your mouth while you're talking in a steady stream? Once I gleeked my drummer in the eye. Like that dinosaur from Jurassic Park. He said it burned. Thatwas a fun show.

A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
I thought I had highly active salivary glands, but that is just gross!
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Yeah, I know. My dentist once told me I have the glands of a two-year old. I mean, it has to have some benefit to it, but I'm not sure what . . . maybe my wife does ; ) . . .
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

...the ability to spit on food and digest it outside your body? You're the fly! :)

A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
"Thanks for that image", he said, just as he took a bite from his sandwich. :P
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Help meeeee! I'm Jeff Goldblum!!!!
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
There are worse things to be. I think he's hella cute. :)
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

(That was my fly impersonation. In case it needed explaining. And everytime I I read the word "fly," I think of the early 90's slang term meaning good looking. What's up with that?)

Erica: movin' to Ohio!! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
that is hilarious! thanks to you, now i know what to call that when it happens! *gives you a pony*
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

*Rides off on his pony*

Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
When I was a kid we called it "geezing" (hard g) and people would geez on each other on the bus to gross them out. :)
Bender Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
SPITTLES!
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
AHHHH! WHERE?!?!?!? Everybody run!!!!
A.J. · 20 years, 11 months ago
The first time I ever made out with someone she couldn't believe it was the first time. And I've never had anything but praise since. Surprised the heck out of me, but I guess I have to be good at SOMETHING. ;)

If you don't believe me, I give free samples. :)
Kris 'engaged' Bedient · 20 years, 11 months ago
My first kiss at 16 was horrible. My next kiss at 18 was worse. Kissing has gotten much better since, and I am good at it. (I also offer free samples, and lessons ;)
A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
You going to be at FRFF? If I go we could set up a booth and offer people workshops. :)
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
that totally works(get it, works...worshop...hehe) for me! I'll be in upper camp. (I am also availabe for private lessons ;-)
A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Maybe we should compare techniques! ;)
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
good idea, I mean, I have to see if you really have what it takes to run a workshop. what exactly are your qualifications?
danced with Lazlo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
oof... first kiss...

It was a bad experience, not because the kiss was necessarily bad. I wouldn't have been able to tell, frankly. It just didn't make sense to me. He kissed me and I tried to reciprocate and to any outside observer I think it would have looked like it was going fine, but it didn't click for me at all. He told me that I was good, but I was thinking about it the whole time. It wasn't really me.

That happened 4 more times with 4 different guys before it finally worked. And he's never told me explicitly whether I was good or bad, but after five and a half years he doesn't seem too bothered by it.

Then I kissed a girl and that worked right away.
A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
So how do you account for that? Fewer issues for you? More experience? Girls are just better in general? :)
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
girls (from my limited experience) are softer than boys, take more time, test things out. *sigh*
A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Well I for one certainly prefer kissing girls. :)
It's a girl! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

My first kiss at 16 was horrible too--the boy just shoved his tongue down my throat and his breath stank and... i came home from the date remarking "kissing is vastly overrated" luckily it got better over the years!

As for my own performance, it seems to have pleased people. It's hard to say beyond that-- it's not like I've ever kissed myself!

Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
*shock* you haven't? why not!?!
J. Andrew World Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Well, speaking as someone who has kissed her, in a state cerimony and everything, she makes me weak in the knees when I kiss her. I can recall several times she has made me fall over because her kisses are so good! When she brushes her teeth, which she does all the time (ORAL HYGENE!)and puts on strawberry lip balm, she tastes good!
lawrence · 20 years, 11 months ago
everyone has a different style and different preferences, so I don't think there's really a good measure for what makes someone a good kisser in general.

I haven't kissed that many people, but of those I have, some have liked it and some haven't. it's all a matter of preference.
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

I don't even think it's so much preference as it is compatibility. When two people "fit" together, good or bad or indiffrent is moot. Because for those two, it's pretty damn perfect. And two people who would be technically "skilled" might fit together so awfully that they both hate it.

I've had kisses that weren't necessarily bad...they just didn't fit well. But the cool thing about kissing is you can work on it and work it out so that your style meshes with someone else's. It just may not happen on the first shot.

A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
But not everyone gets a second shot, so you better try darn hard to be good the first time.
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

I dunno. In my life, I already have a guaranteed second shot before I even kiss the person. i.e. I don't kiss unless it already means something and therefore the person's probably as invested in working on it as I am.

But that's just me. I've never casually kissed.

Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
wow *jawdrops*
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

Is that weird? hee. I don't know anything but what I know...y'know? I only get to the smoochy point with people I know fairly well as a friend and decide there is more there. And a person who has been my friend and is interested enough to try the new level with me is not the type of person who would toss me aside if that first kiss sucked.

I just can't really conceive of kissing someone under more casual circumstances. I don't think it's wrong, but it's not personally in me.

Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
(heh. and wouldn't it be funny though if I was like "oh, but dude, casual sex...I'm SO down with that!" :) )
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 20 years, 11 months ago
This poll is making me quote an exchange in the classic bad horror film, Horror at Party Beach

Do you think kissing is unhealthy?
I don't know, I've never been.
You've never been kissed?
No I've never been sick.

zil · 20 years, 11 months ago

well I think that since this was my poll that I should prolly put my answer here...

I picked yeah I guess cause I'm not really sure, but I don't think I'm bad at it. ... I do tend to be ... very [VERY] agressive... and I bite... just ask talcotts tongue. and lips. and... I'll be quiet now. ;-)

Talcott Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
No, you're definitly not bad at it :-D

And eh, my tongue heals fine ;-)
zil Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

thank goodness!! *winkwink*

A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Agressive is good. At least from women. :)
zil Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

adam didn't like it, he felt dominated because I was so agressive. he's such a pussy.

A.J. Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
People secure in their sexuality would only feel domninated in a good way. ;)
Bender · 20 years, 11 months ago
I'm actually shy when it comes to this kind of thing. Er. I need to say I was in the past, because I've become frighteningly (to me) assertive in the past couple of months.

Maybe I need to leave the country more often...
ShrinkMan · 20 years, 11 months ago
You'd have to ask this poll's 'first poster'...
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Yes. :)
Barb · 20 years, 11 months ago
So I am usually about humility but kissing is one thing I am good at. It is an art that I have perfected without much practice. Perhaps it was all the soaps i watched as a child. I just copied what they did but I dunno. I have only ever had positive reviews.
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

*Sigh*

Is there anything that cannot be learned from soap operas? . . . Don't answer that . . .

Bender Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
aerospace engineering. also, esperanto.
Rimbo Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Someone has trouble following directions . . . ; )
Bender Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
I don't follow directions or play well with others. I useup all of the construction paper and tape making wings for myself. Also, I eat all of the glue sticks.
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

Ahh, but do you run with scissors?

Bender Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
running's for tools.
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
how about skipping? and aren't scissors considered tools for cutting?
Annika · 20 years, 11 months ago
I've gotten mixed opinion's on my style of kissing. Some really like it, others not so much. So, depends. I'd answer either way, but I've never kissed myself.
