Teenagers?

Okay so what do older people think about teenagers?
I think that teenagers can be very interesting. I haven't hung out with them since I was one, but they were very interesting then. I don't have a problem with them. As far as love interests... *laugh* no. It's hard to find someone my age who's not an immature ass, let alone someone younger than me.

Most of the teenagers I know, and see are very immature, they are also really annoying. Myself being a teenager, I know I can probably be both of these two as well, but then again most of the time people think me to be a lot more mature than I should be. However, I find there are very few teenagers that come across as an exception.

We (meaning teenagers, I am one.) Can be very irritating, then we can be very amazing. You never know which it will be, day to day. Deal with us...we grow up eventually...But aren't we fun?!
i dunno. i know a number of adults who have yet to grow up eventually. :D -= george =-
Yeah..I'm already all grown up. Talk to me..i'll bet you won't be able to guess my age...(well you'll have a ballpark since I already said I was a "teen")
Dork!.....Cheating is frowned upon! Coulda just talked to me....*grumble* Ruin all my fun....
Moohoohaha sarah...you're all grown up? since when did you start paying rent n' stuff hehe....I love you anyways...sadly enough I agree with most people that teenagers (not ME of course...nor Sarah) are super annoying and should be locked up for a few years... generally they are blasted idiots....sad, sad... however, there are a few of us who remain normal...
Lisa and I play that with people all the time and she's 35. Funny story about that. When my family met Lisa we played Guess her age and everyone guessed around 23. A few weeks later everyone met Carey and we played the same game. Carey was 23 at the time. Not wanting to be fooled twice people said 30!
Then I was asked, "Why do all these beautiful young women hang out with you?"

I want to agree with the Dar song but most of the time I don't. I don't know how it happened but it was fast. I woke up one morning and had no tolerance for them. I kinda got over that and take them now on a case by case basis. (I mean, there are some fabulous ones here) Even my own cousin got really annoying around 14 and now she's finally getting interesting again at almost 21. I'm not sure how I feel about my own teenage years now as I'm looking back at them.I wouldn't subject my teenage self on anyone when I think about it. I thinkit's the ignorance/arrogance combo that gets knocked out of you in your early twenties when you realize you really DON'T know everything and that you ARE NOT the first person in the worldgo through whatever it is you are feeling. Personally, I'm also looking forward to my 30s...I think the 20s were harder than my teenage years (although hopefully less annoying to others). Cheryl Wheeler talked about the fact that now, in her 50s, she writes mostly songs about her cats where when she was young she wrote more personal stuff...because her early self expression now just sounds like whining to her.

Teenagers are people like anyone else, with the added bonus of hormonal shit. How I relate to teenagers varies greatly case by case and has since before I was a teenager myself. I am currently getting to be friends with a 17 year old who is smarter and more mature than most adults I know. Meanwhile I can think of 18 and 19 year olds I know whom I simply cannot abide.

The average teenager irritates me. Average teenage girls are hopelessly trend-centric and snobby. Average teenage guys are mean-spirited know-it-all morons. That's not to say there aren't plenty of very cool teenagers. I know a lot myself, and on this site in particular there are lots of them. Then again, just by being on this site, you're probably not in the "average" category. :)
No...Not "average"....Not even closes Muwahahaha! Yeah who put Jailbait? I love it!

What I want to know is who those 3 people that put "jailbait" are...
Yes....They do try. I can't believe how some of them get away with almost nothing in the winter!! Ahhh put on some clothes! (I'm talking to you Des)
Okay but see I wore REALLY thick nylons and spanky pants...therefore I am not as bad...and you said I looked cute !*pout* *crosses arms indignantly*

the immortal words of sebastian the crab.
i feel it -is- a case sensitive thing. some are cool...some are not. all of them that overtake the mall on friday nights are of the second ilk IMHO. saw on TV that at the Mall of America, teenagers aren't allowed after a certain time{6pm???} without an adult. sounds like a good policy to me. heh. of course, mayhap i'm just being a bitter old hag. ;) teenage mallgoers who aren't there to shop ARE annoying...I got over that one a while ago...
A few of our malls do the same thing - they found that shopping dropped on certain days of the week because it was overrun with teenagers. Not to mention that shoplifting was up on those days and fights broke out in the mall but specifically in the food court.
Jeez...I would be pretty angry if I couldn't shop without a parent after 6 pm. I've been doing that for 7 years and I only just stopped being a teenager half a year ago. I really couldn't see my dad letting me drag him down to the Eaton Centre for three hours at a time...although he would be useful for carrying bags. I think the majority of teenagers are not much of a problem in general and its the bad ones that cause these generalizations and the unfair laws that are made as a result.

just so y' all aren't grossed out or something sarah and I threw off the pole by both voting for romantic interests...that still leaves at least 3 however who thought that...and the 2 jailbaiters ....interesting...very interesting...

Not one person has voted that teenagers are fun to hang out with...SAD!
you can't make a blanket statement about any particular age group or society as being completely 100% fun to hang out with. not teenagers, not adults. not any one group of human beings or politicians. people are people. they all have their irritating moments. (: -= george =-
I agree...however I still think it's kinda pathetic that NO ONE would put fun...I know if I were asked about 27 year olds I probably would say they were fun hehe...but then again maybe the ones I know are rare *grin*
well, a) you don't know me all that well yet (: everyone here knows i'm no fun i know a number of irritating, disrespectful, downright rude teenagers. i don't see any point in wide-spread labeling them all as such just because of a few dorkwads. when i did tech support at my last company, i had adults who would yell, scream, and emit foul language in my ear on a regular basis. that doesn't mean that they're all like that. (: by the same token, i know a number of teenagers that are really cool. that doesn't erase the snotballs. likewise with adults. making all-encompassing statements about any given category is most of the reason why there are wars between countries right now. take that as you will. -= george =- that hurts. especially after the human doumbek where you almost face planted me into the floor of toad's place. :D -= george =- if it hadn't been for beight and her roommate, i would have been tasting the experience of the sticky floor. :D i had to grab onto their shoulders in order to avoid the unpleasant mouthful. it was rather funny in retrospect, actually, but it scared the crap outta me at the time (: -= george =- I'm confused...what's the troof? Eh? I personally think I am an absolute joy to be around, but I don't think I've ever been your typical teenager....It's just not in my nature...Typical. I think all of the answers on polls are too broad, but what can you do? If I were to make a poll saying "Sarah: What do you think of me? Irritating? Nice? Sweet? Boring? Idiotic? Slightly retarted, yet amusing?" All of those terms (and some of them do apply, I'll let you think of which) would be too broad to describe how anybody really feels about me, and If you do feel that generally about things then you obviously don't know enough about them to have any sort of opinion. There, my 2 cents. (my 2 cents are always more like 50...I'm a talker!)

Yup, george is absolutely no fun at all, such a stick in the mud. Why do I even bother talking to him?!? heheh :-D
you mean there were motives for letting me sit on your shoulders? ): twice?? ): ): i feel so used... -= george =- you know what, i'd forgotten about that. and about how wounded i was when i found out that she was saltier. *sob* -= george =-
I never forget anything d00d.
not really, it stays in my long term memory--where even I can't find it, until oportune moments lke this. and besides, I didn't block out the memory to try and prevent permanent scarrage like you did. that makes a difference I think. oh yeah. that's right. you do have rather a knack for remembering things like this. lucky us. :D -= george =-
Eh?! between george and sarah what.....? Confused?! (I am blond ya know...well you probably didn't know..but I am..)
i'm so confused. make the funny men stop saying things in my nose. and keep nate's tongue off my cheek. it's liekomg all rough and stuff. -= george =-

I never really was a teenager. I was a child until I was 16, and had to grow up pretty quickly due to hospitalization and basically staying alive in there. Before I went into the hospital the first time, I was a very physically demonstrative, outgoing person. I became quite shy for months after coming home. not that that's relevant. But after that harrowing experience, and feeling like an adult, I was treated like even more of a child than before, and started to feel and act like one. Suddenly, I'm in the hospital again, and it starts all over. And boom, I'm 18, and my parents suddenly expect me to be an adult, I start my first adult relationship, I start college... and I start feeling like a teenager, but I have to hide it. I don't know what my point was supposed to be, but it feels great to get that out there.
i had a similar expirience, i went into the hospital at age 8 for brain surgery, so i ws forced to face my own mortality at an early age and that made me old beyond my years.

rebellious, loud and disrespectful of their parents. Plato said something like that, but I can't find a reference to it. Jaci, help! Pleeease?
Anyway, "the youth of today" has always been thus and for those of us wrinklies who deny it must have forgotten what we got up to when we were young. Rude! I am a teen....I am generally non-rebellious, I am only loud when need be and I am not disrespectful to my parents. I do however know adults that that can be said about...
Now, what is wrong with being rebellious, loud and disrespectful?
Anyway, I was really just pointing out that today's complaints concerning teenagers by old fogeys are older than dust. Plato died in 347 bc. I am happy to be rebellious, loud when loudness is called for, disrespectful to whoever deserves it and 51. Rude? Read my post again. You may have read something in it that I haven't written.
