I had one that said "Impeach Bush" but Chris threw it out. My favorite one right now, is one my older brother Ben and his wife Amanda bought me. It has a screen print of a penguine and says "I wish I could fly" I like it especially because they both went separate ways to finda x-mas gift that "screamed Anni", and ended up with the same thing.
I have one with Barney eating children. BWAHAHAHAH! Other awesome ones are - my teen girl squad shirt, my shirt that simply says "I Rock" (which also got me called on during Request-O-Rama at a DVN show), my TMBG drinking bird shirt, my TMBG snowman warming self over burning money shirt, my "Your New Girlfriend" shirt, and the most true and honest of all my shirts - the "I'm not EVIL just MISUNDERSTOOD." So true, so true.
· 21 years, 8 months ago
I also love my new "teen girl squad" shirt, and Rod loves his Strong Bad doing a dance t-shirt! I have a Snuggle Diva shirt made by one of my sweet friends that I love and I still wear the shirt ALL the time! Also my Canadian Girls kick ass shirt is one of my faves! Rod's are: Respect my athouritah! Can't sleep, clown will eat me (printed about 20 times with the font getting smaller and smaller) I Killed Kenny ~J~
I have a Teen Girl Squad shirt! Woo!

Oooo! I want one! Where did you get it? *uses brain and thinks to check the homestarrunner.com store* Never mind. :)
Annika
· 21 years, 7 months ago
I have that "Canadian Girls kick ass" some Canadian boy trying to talk me into a being a Canadian girl a year or so ago sent it to me.
...every time i wear my trogdor t-shirt to a concert, the band onstage notices. :D other t-shirts i love include my various and sundry WYBC shirts, my cigarettes & chocolate milk shirt, my shirts from scary-go-round and diesel sweeties (shelley's eggbert shirt, roger the cat & the pink-on-red heart, for those who care), my guster shirts (green with little white road sign men, "love guster, don't eat them", etc), my travis t-shirts (some bands just have cool swag), my engrish t-shirt from japan and, of course, the ol' " i *heart* canadian boys" shirt that i'm afraid to wear anymore for fear of ruining it. kinda defeats the purpose, i know--it's the same way with all the t-shirts i've gotten signed. really cool in the moment, but the sigs fade with every washing. alas.
· 21 years, 8 months ago
alas...but it's very special! Go Trogdor!!!! oO burn-in-ae-ting the village!Oo

My "I Love Canadian Boys" t-shirt (I found one!) and one a friend painted for me that says "i am a salmon." Those of you who watch Play may have seen it.:D It basically means that I'm a non-conformist (salmon swim upstream and all)...I would have explained it on TV but the camera lights kind of stunned me. It's funny how talking on TV is scarier than singing on TV with a camera in your face...
Heee...it's interesting, though, that within salmon culture the swimming upstream IS conformist. :)
Ack! Ackackackack! Make the evil trauma go away! O:) Ahem.
Now, see, what you really have to do is sprout legs and walk and REALLY be a nonconformist among the fish.
Yvonne
· 21 years, 8 months ago
I'll get to work on that. *looks down and sees two legs* Sweet!
It's not a statement of non-conformity but it is about not taking the path of least resistence. *shrug* its still something.
Yvonne
· 21 years, 8 months ago
That works too. It can mean a number of things. I just happen to like the non-conformist statement.
Annika
· 21 years, 7 months ago
Dude, there's nothing wrong with conformity. I've thought about taking the time to be like everyone else, I'll bet just about everyone has. My thing is though, I'm far to lazy to try. Hrm.. too lazy, just like everyone else. There is no unique anymore.

I don't *own* it, but I've been drooling over a Tshirt that says, "George W. Bush is a wanker." Perfect. Just perfect.
first up, i want all the t-shirts at www.tshirthell.com. *drools* :D my favorite t-shirt is bright blue and has john taylor from duran duran on it. :D although i used to have a really cool t-shirt that said, 'i am a virgin. this is a very old t-shirt' on it, whichusually got a laugh(and the odd sex proposal or two):D oh, and i just made myself a t-shirt that says 'WANG COMPUTERS' on it. go me! hehehe :D
A skateboarding shirt that simply says "Birdhouse". Great to wear to TMBG shirts and not be that guy because technically, I'm NOT wearing a TMBG shirt. It's not a t-shirt, but a polo that says, "Lovely Day for a Guinness". My EFO "I Wanna Be Quick" shirt. People get out of my way when I wear it. :) My TEAM CANADA shirt. I wore it to my first GBS show and all the Newfies treated me as one of their own. My Hawaiian shirt. It makes me feel so relaxed.
Yeah...I love wearing that shirt to TMBG shirts. O:)
hmm... my STFU and GEEK Girl T's, courtesy of thinkgeek.com my "Your new girlfriend" T from the '97 Fruvous Tour (simply because I love people's reactions). My "NAUGHTY" baby-T, in sparkly glitter letters i don't personally own this T-shirt, but my all-time fave has a very graphic Chest-Burster from Aliens coming out of the stomach :D that T-shirt rocks!
"Oh no, not again!" oO Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal.... Oo
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA I had tears pouring down my cheeks the first time I saw that scene. I totally wasn't expecting it and I even recognized him (hey, that's that guy from Alien!) What i didn't realize until recently was that he also played Jesus in History of the World, Pt. I Angie still waiting for HofW Pt. II (oO We're Jews, Jews in Space... Oo)
my favorites are my canadian boys shirt (of course), the house concert tshirt, "queen of everything" from stacey, my brontosaurus tshirt and tank, love and china babyt, "i can smell your brains," b-fest 2003 (with a comic about Tor on the back), tmbg hayseed johns anniversary shirt, and "touch-a touch-a touch me." oh. and sam-i-am. and the lorax. and "one frog can make a difference." and...i have a lot of good tshirts. :)
the tshirt i miss the most is my migraine boy r.e.m. shirt. stupid bleach accidents.
Mollie made me a t-shirt with this on it:
Yeah, I'd love to see you wear that at an airport. :)
i keep wanting to read that as "gordon has no pants. gordon needs no pants." ew.
on a related note, i want a shirt that says, "lick my pants!" and one that says, "daddy wants your bing-bong, baby." and "adam busch has a band?!"
We might have to make the Adam Busch one if we see Common Ro again.
totally. lawrence told me they're playing at iota soon...too bad they won't come out to chicago.
I've been hanging out with sushi-eaters too long because every time you guys refer to them as "Common Ro" my brain turns it into "salmon roe"
Hey Josh, when are we going to get FHDC T-shirts? Maybe on the back it can say "You insensitive clod!" or other phrases specific to FHDC.
that's not an original fhdc expression, tho.
i'd recommend something about pete best. :)

Dood! I would LOVE to design FHDC t-shirts! Hee! 8)
http://www.cafepress.com It's where the Frucon 6 shirts were made. Make a design, and probably submit it to Josh to see if he likes it, which I'm sure he'll love it. Then send it in to cafepress, and they do the rest. :)

meh.
I don't like cafe press shirts.
they fade. and stuff.
I have lots of trouble with mine anyway.
Really?
Huh.
I've never had a problem with their shirts.
i had trouble with a cafepress bag ("VITAMINS!" for those who read the btn). i got caught in the rain with it once and it bled all over the place. ick.
yeah... i want an FHDC t-shirt! i thought we were going to have some made. bah. *sulk* :D and wasn't there a poll on the t-shirt too? *goes off to find out*

o.O
so much information.
hahahaha. sometimes.
More importantly...is that, like, a date?
heee!i forgot: i have a t-shirt with a picture of a frog on the front and when you press the frog it goes 'ribbit, ribbit, ribbit' :D thing is, the button for the noise just happens to be right over my left boob. gah. which led to much near-fondling on tour two years ago. :D (the sound thing still works 2 years after i bought it though! woohoo!)

I'm very fond of my wigu shirt
"I am made of POISON!"
Also my CRFH shirt with "DIE!" on the front and a comic on the back.
my brontosaurus tank top.
And I still plan on making metropolis shirts with "I'm afraid of the beautiful girls" on it.
oh! almost forgot, my "I like good music, you like crap."
and my "Damn right right I'm good in bed, I can sleep for days." shirts.
Eri
· 21 years, 8 months ago
My favorites that I own? "Eri" painted across a giant strawberry is one, and Cadence's INSTRUMENTS ARE FOR SURGEONS slogan on a black shirt is the other. Well, and my Nuf Sed tshirt from this year. Also "I was born to be famous" on a tank top. Favorite shirts I've made for others? Lime Jell-O shirt for my friend Rob, and "It's All ABout Me" for Jaci. :)
jaye
· 21 years, 8 months ago
yes! that shirt rocks. for it is, in fact, all about me :)
Eri
· 21 years, 8 months ago
Indeed. Who else could it ever be all about?
"Fuck You You Fucking Fuck" got me sent to the principal's office in high school.
"Jesus Hates Me" nearly made my chorus teacher faint.
I really like my gray teeshirt that has blue mountains and says "Free". I just like the way it looks and feels.
I used to have a shirt that said "Nevermore" and one that said "Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself."
I like my Quarantine shirt that has a warning sign style depiction of a man and a monkey both with biohazard stuff in their lungs and radiating... its kinda hard to describe, but it intrigued Jian.
some that i own, some that i have seen...
"all stressed out and nobody to choke"
"you laugh because i'm different, i laugh because you're all the same"
"don't MAKE me get my flying monkies"
"be quiet brain or I'll stab you with a Q-tip"
" There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't"
"I read your email"
my "capture the b34r" megatokyo t-shirt.
(mike's "evil squirrels are trying to to steal my nutz" t-shirt is in my top 10, easy).
· 21 years, 8 months ago
"don't MAKE me get my flying monkies" I love that! ~J~
someone else shops at www.thinkgeek.com i see. i have a couple from there & also a couple from www.jlist.com as well. most of my shirts come from my local comic store though. right now, my favourite is my 3v1L m1nio|\| megatokyo shirt or James' Akira shirt.
I always liked your "beauty is in the eye of the beer holder" one, and have seen it since then on others... Me likey my Canadian boys babydoll, my SamIAm babydoll... had one made with my guy Steve Goodie on it (front is pic of Steve that's on my thumbnail right now, back is www.stevegoodie.com "rocking rock that rocks"), Ben Folds 5 shirt where they're looking at their nails, my THE CHEAT tee, my Cure shirt I bought at a record store years ago... and I gotta wear the tank my mom bought me as a joke... it says "I HAVE ISSUES" in rhinestone... hahah...

"I <red maple leaf> T.O." my team canada jersey my fruvous jersey my Nottingham Forest jersey front: "You are what you eat" back: "I am a dead cow" (painted by my friend Mischlepity) a picuture of Calvin daydreaming under a tree with a dream bubble of a globe and Hobbes next to him with a dream bubble of a peace sign. on the bottom it said "People say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one" that i really really really want: "I <heart> John Cusack" (picture from Sixteen Candles)

i love my 'folkin excellent' shirt coz it makes people look twice.
i love my house concert shirt coz of the 'and they're way better than most bands that suck' part on the back.
i also love my frvous definition tee coz it makes me wax nostalgic of days gone by.
i love my ShellyCon shirt coz it's cool and so themed.
i love my 'green eggs and ham' shirt with sam i am on it.
i love my 'let's get mesolithic' shirt coz most people don't know what the hell 'mesolithic' means and they ask me about it.
i love my 'gentle arms of eden' dave and tracy shirt coz it makes me feel thoughtful and safe{as odd as that sounds}.
and i love my long hippie-girl tie-dyed t-shirt with the smiley face on the front wearing the pink bandana with the flowers on it and sticking its tongue out.
and i -want- a shirt with the 'queer as folk' theme design, but instead to add the word 'music', so it would read 'queer as folk music' and wear to a folk fest.
i am eeeeeeeeeeevoooooool!!!
"Stuyvesant High School F___ing Team"
What? Don't look at me like that... We had a kickass fencing team. We did!
I know, you often faced my alma mater Cardozo in the City Finals.
Which proves that even though not a special school Cardozo counts as a nerd school.
Annika

You had fencing at your hs? Jesus, we didn't even have football every year!
I have one that just says "You laugh because i'm different, i laugh because you're all the same" SO true, so beutifuly true. CONFORMITY IS A DISEASE!
Zach
· 21 years, 8 months ago
I hate that shirt. Everyone and their mother has that shirt. While I love the message it conveys, the fact that everyone wears it negates its very purpose.
Not as bad as the Anti-Crombie shirts, IMO. Just being against what's popular still lets what's popular determine your opinion! Gah!
renita
· 21 years, 8 months ago
but he didn't say he's against it for being popular.
or that he doesn't let what's popular determine his opinion.
he's saying that the message irritates him because it's claiming individuality while conforming.
well. that's not the best way of saying it.
the fact that one is wearing the shirt makes them the same as ALL the other people wearing the shirt thus nullifying the premise. so to speak.
I wasn't accusing him of being against it because it was popular. I was trying to offer a similar example of people conforming to non-conformity.
renita
· 21 years, 8 months ago
ahhh
this: Just being against what's popular still lets what's popular determine your opinion! Gah!
was refering to your own gripe, not his.

After the Melissa Ferrick show yesterday, I'm making buttons and a t-shirt that say Vewwy Scawy Canadians.
Okay, there are these cute bunny shirts... but they have funny sayings on them. Mine has a cute bunny and says, "Cute but psycho. Things even out." on it. My friend Liz has about 30 (meaning 5) cute bunny stickers, and I've seen cute bunny car air freshners.
Actually, she's the one who bought the shirt with me. We both didn't have that much money and we both wanted one, so we played rock-paper-scissors and if we both got the same thing, we would get the shirts. And we did. And all was good.
...Cute but longwinded. Things... um... turn out longwinded. ;o)
it's happy bunny! I loooove that bunny! I had a folder with himthat said, "School prepares you for the real world... which also sucks."
Prinut
· 21 years, 7 months ago
I have a happy bunny shirt....it says "Its cute how stupid you are"... Its not my typical type of shirt but I saw it and just went with the urge of needing to have it...
When I started this I meant to ask how other people organize their t-shirts? One group is just put away at random but my favorites are organized by editorial content. The classifications are:
- literature
- theatre
- film
- tv
- radio
- music
- science
- math/physics/astonomy
- dinosaurs
- places
- sports
Do I need help?

You have more categories than I have t-shirts.
Wow.
And I thought I was a dork.
Annika
· 21 years, 7 months ago
I organize by size and color. I go, bottom to top dark to light I have a stack of red, green, grey, white, and brown, and then my stack of shirts I don't have enough of a color to have a stack of, like pink, and orange and blue and colors I don't wear much.
i admit it.. i cheated it.. the "I *heart* Canadian Boys" tee was sold out.. but i wanted one damnit.. so 'know what i did? i MADE one.. i know.. i know.. i suck.. but i actually sat there for hours on end embroidering it.. dude.. my fingers are STILL cut to pieces.. gotta learn to use a thimble -sam
an little late on getting in on this thread, but "All this and brains too" has been popular with the masses. And, of course, my Peach Berserk mudflap girl T is da bomb.

My favourite t-shirts are ones I find at Goodwill or in lost luggage stores. The first, and most awesomest, was my green "Born Again Pagan" t-shirt. Keep in mind, though, that the most important part is the fit of the shirt (not too long, not too narrow, graphic over boobs, that kinda thing), followed by the colour of the shirt, followed by what's actually on the shirt. The one exception to this rule is my "Sea-Monkeys" t-shirt which is huge, and a really disgusting purple colour, and the design is crooked. I bought it because of how ugly it was :D
These days my favourites are a blue t-shirt that says "Public Power: Light Years Ahead!" with a picture of a light bulb on it in yellow and white. Another good one is my bright orange t-shirt with a white heart in a circle on the front. And of course, the dark green "North Toronto Basketball" shirt, because I a) never played basketball, and b) especially not in Toronto.
There are some shirts that used to be MC's, such as the bright yellow "DIVE A VIRGIN" shirt that then says "island" really small. And MC has (or had) one of my favourite shirts of all time, which I used to borrow regularly. It was a staff shirt from the now-defunct National Capital Commission. My uncle used to work for them, they kept up all the parks, monuments and fountains in Ottawa. THAT was an awesome shirt, and it made me feel proud at the same time :D
My Canadian Boys t-shirt is on the list. So is the ring t my friend Jenny picked out for me at a secondhand store when I visited her and forgot to pack any shirts (oops). It has sparkly rainbow letters reading "Surf's Up" across the chest.
My former roommate's Dar Williams shirt has a pocket on the back and says "I think I put my shirt on backwards" across the front.
Used to have the naked Righteous Babe t-shirt, but can't find it now.
Back in my (short-lived) chem-studying days, I wanted a t-shirt that had a diagram of a free radical on the front and the words "I'm a free radical" on the back.
My softball uniform shirt has "Poets" across the front and my name and number (14) on the back. I wore it for the last day of the lit class I was teaching, and one of my students said, "Hey, what's with the 14?" Another said, "Fourteen lines in a sonnet. Duh!"
Me a nerd?
OK the first thing I thought of was Gil Hodges, that was his number and the Mets retired it. The second thing I thought of was 14 lines in a sonnet.
Gordon is not a nerd, he is Fashionably challenged!
