What's your favourite (major) sport?
That would be croquet. Rugby is pretty much sanctioned assault, like hockey. :)
Football/soccer cross as far as I can tell, in simplistic terms. Though it may predate football.
oh yeah! I used to be on the girls rugby team at USM... not that we were any good... or that we found many other teams to play against, because apparently not many girls enjoy playing rugby... but I used to also hound the tufts rugby team in MA. it was so exciting and awesome... its perfectly acceptable to be right up on the side lines swearing your freaking head off at the players on the field. and the teams have plays with the crudest names... and when the coach yells out the play its suprising, "bloody cum bubble!" "we're going to fuck your sister!" yeah... its crass rude and one of my favorite things ever!
Are you insane??? The red sox could beat the bruins any day anges kanges!!!

If you didn't know that I voted for baseball you lose 50 Gordonpoints. The Mets suck but they are still my team.
Basketball really is a very close second. The Knicks suck too. Of course I always have my band, those Fruvous guys. Oh yeah, they don't play much anymore do that? I sure can pick them, can't I?

I'm not really into any of the sports listed above...although, like with music, going out to see any of them is cool... I do, however, like men's Gymnastics and Swimming. But that's likely for other reasons than you'd intended...

I voted for Baseball, as it has had a place in my heart since I was a wee little kid, though hockey comes a very close second. I've been a die-hard fan of the Yankees for years (despite the evil empire of George, hey, I started rooting for them in the 80s, when they weren't winning diddly). I don't really follow NHL hockey much, but am more into college hockey. I'm still a fan of the Cornell Big Red (where I went to school and chanted, screamed, and insulted with the best of them at Lynah Rink), who sadly lost a couple of days ago to UNH (that's Univeristy of New Hampshire) in the semi-finals of the Frozen Four. Alas, the perception of the ECAC as a weak conference continues.
And, if you're going to post something, you might want to consider proofreading it. :P

Why do I love hockey? I could say something witty about not liking pro basketball, as I'm short and all the players are tall... *grin* I'm a huge Detroit Red Wings fan. I've got a whole scrapbook of newspaper clippings, and more often than not I'm glued in front of the screen watching the game. (Oh, please, that they make it through this series. I will cry if they do not). One thing I'm not looking forward to when I go to school in Chicago next year is having to watch Blackhawk hockey. *shudder*
I'm sorry, I like Detriot, but if Anaheim wins, my Oilers have a far better chance...now if only Minnesota and Vancouver would win.
Go Pauley! I LOVE NASCAR! and ":P" to Nate! and you people who picked CURLING? what were you thinking? have you WATCHED it? heh! NASCAR has funny southern talk, speed, fights, fines, and someone could die EVERY WEEK! heh! GO NASCAR! (and my roomate was proud of the people who said Rugby)

Josh trashed my "Badminton" option, that insensitive clod!
I should have added Curling, though. Whoops. Hockey is the best to watch, badminton is the best to play. For me anyways.
Yeah, one more vote for curling. Not that I really watch any sports much. But just this morning I was flippin' and I came apon the finals of the women's world curling championships. Surprising amount of strategy in that game, as well as the skill and coordination to make a really heavy rock slide 100ft. or so and stop within inches of where you want it. The US team beat the Canadian team btw.
Arbie, but Canada won in the men's (not like I watched it, though!) hehe! ~J~

i hate sports.
i do like going to games occasionally, tho -- but more for spending time with people and enjoying the fun atmosphere. i was at the cubs' opening day earlier this week, with neal and some friends, and it was bloody cold, but still lots of fun. and hey, the cubs won, which is exciting even to a non-baseball fan. :)

QUIDDITCH!! *hides* no. seriously. am big football (sorry, soccer) freak. or at least i used to be. and am currently very nervous because it's almost the end of the season and arsenal's playing man u on wednesday and arsenal have to beat them to stay at the top or man u will be at the top instead and no-one wants man u to win because they win it every year and they suck. :D
Quidditch rules!
That's what I didn't like about the fourth book, no Quidditch:(
no way. for made-up sports, you've gotta go with calvinball.
Definitely the rules even made more sense than quidditch.

But I love to read wire stories about hockey-- they have such lovely names. Jaromir Jagr. Miroslav Satan. Radek Bonk. Rod Brindamour. Mmmm. Plus, they are a prime example of the law of conservation of vowels: the Czechs have no vowels, and the Finns have twice as many as they ought to.
