Who would be interested in a Budgiedome t-shirt? The design will be based on our business card with the now official logo.
It wouldn't have the email addresses or the dot.com. I'm thinking of Navy Blue for the color. If enough people want them we'll have them made up, otherwise we'll go the cafe press route. I think another question we may need to answer before getting into this is...what will the purpose of the shirt be? To promote the dome and its semi-pro appeal and to get more folks interested in it? Or to celebrate the peeps who hang there and have it be all souveniry and fun. I think the answer to that would help dictate the design. I quickley did this imag as a sketch, what do you think, give me some feed back and by friday I should have a beter one done up! Is it the budgie dome texture? Ok, Maybe I could nor use that. Let me whip up a few more! First we have Hippy budgiedome. We can loose the dot com if you want, but I liked the idea of someone scralling it on the words. Secondly we have disco budgiedome. If fruvous can have disco bargainville, then we can have disco budgiedome. I could also draw larry or barry in a leasure suit. Or maybe not.
i'd wear the disco one-- that's my favorite of your designs for the shirts
I don't like the first one, I can't tell what it says.
The second one is quite swanky. I don't like the quote on it, though.
yes, but...the budgiedome isn't a roller disco.
at least. not to my knowledge.
Oh, but it could be. We'll install a disco ball at the top, put in a roller track that surrounds the dome, crank up some 70s disco music, and we'll boogie on down! :)
Dude, That would rock! The first Roller Disco at a folk festival!
as long as we don't do a disco version of when she talks.

I like the idea, just not this implementation. The logo reminds me of the little text stretching tool I'd use in high school, and a t-shirt doesn't need a bunch of email contact information. ;-) I'd want a Budgiedome T-shirt if it looked cool, though!
it's hard to read gordon's post, but i think he says that the tshirt wouldn't have the url or the email addresses.
but i'm with you, josh. i might get one with a different design, but not with this one. not that i have any idea what this magical different design might look like. gosh. i'm extremely helpful. :P
speaking of "bootydome" - I'd get one if it were available in baby-tee or tank top format.
bootydome tshirts for all!
also, where would the money for these budgiedome tshirts go?
to pay for the t-shirts. that is all. it would be a cafepress or self-done small job, like we did for the house party.
indeed. no contact info. no .com. just the word budgiedome in some funky font that looks vaguely like a dome.
we chose this one for the biz cards. personally i like andy's silver-tarp-look creation, but it is somewhat illegible. i think for the shirt we'd stick with the same font as already decided for the cards, just for consistency's sake. we might want to put some sort of motto beneath the word "budgiedome" or on the back, just so it's not so stark. i've always favored "wandering minstrels adopted," but we'd take other suggestions. This is the type of thing I was wondering when I asked what the purpose of the shirt would be. If it's for fun and souveniry group celebration, a budgiedome in-joke would be cool. But obviously if it's meant to be accessible and make people curious and want to come visit, that wouldn't be the tack to take.
the purpose is primarily publicity, so if people see us wearing the shirt, especially in places other than frff, they can talk to us about visiting or playing the 'dome at FRFF or other festivals. anyone wearing a shirt could say "yeah, they're always glad to have new people come in. get hold of gordon (or Lori or Steve or John) for details. go to budgiedome.com on the web." or whatever. we'll also being giving anyone interested in distributing them a small supply of the cards, so if you bump into ... peter mulvey or someone :D ... he could have our contact info. (yeah, i know. the crack was REALLY good this morning.)
the in-joke thing is kind of counterproductive when we're trying to welcome others, so i think that shouldn't be a focus of anything on the shirt. i understand about the 'being THAT guy' thing, but i know that people from the BOT wear BOT shirts at FRFF, so mebbe since artists know the BOT they know to look for one of those people to talk to about performing there{since they seem to get even -more- of the pros than we do}...so i dunno if it's a BAD idea to be 'that guy' at FRFF...mebbe in the dome, yeah.... *shrug* just my .02

I would go for one with the budgiebird/dog on it, maybe with a pic of the dome (or not) on the front, and then it can say "budgiedome" on the back (without the names and addys) and what about royal purple?
Royal purple with gold trim, and a nice embroidered collar. Maybe a sequined sash. And a jumbo butt-bow!
whee! see, that's what i was going to suggest. :) great minds, and all that. :D
I think the problem with the budgiedog may lie in the fact that it is fruvous-designed. I don't know if that would cause a tangle.
that's my concern as well.
again, go me for being supremely helpful. :P
Sweet! I love the top one. Maybe with the musical note as well. Very cool.
As a non-FRFFer (not by choice), am I allowed to suggest the first one for the front, and the (back of?) same graphic on the back "coming over the hill", partially obscured by a hillside?
Yeah, I didn't think so either.
