have i done at least almost first post? my god it's been a WHILE
Bender · 17 years, 11 months ago
Without civility, it's not a debate -- it's an argument.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
What do you mean you snotty faced heap of parrot droppings?

Oh you want an argument. This is abuse.
Nik Chaikin Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
No it's not.
Andrea Krause · 17 years, 11 months ago
I don't know that anyone would really say it isn't. But achieving it is another matter entirely. People have a hard time staying civil.

i soooo wanted to pick splunge cause it sounds funny. but i've watched seconds of fox news and they sound like little kids when they debate and stuff

Nik Chaikin Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
Fox news is a bit scary.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
The Volunteers at FUV that take pledges ask the donor why they support the station. The best answers are read on the air. When we punch one up a bit we call it the "Fox News Version." I should point out that we never make up things, we just phrase things better and correct the grammar. The first person that makes a crack about my grammar is in big trouble.

Unless the person arguing is on my side. Then they can be as childish and insulting as they'd like.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
That is actually the root of the problem. Everyone says that civility is important but that the other side is just so out of line that they have to make an exception.
Rimbo Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
Yeah, I was joking.  I agree with you.

Dick.

Again, kidding.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
Sorry, I didn't make it clear. I knew you were kidding. I was giving you credit for your joke illustrating the problem.
Rimbo Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
Ah, I see.  In that case, I'm the dolt.

Credit . . . ACCEPTED!
Bender Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
You smell and your mother dresses you funny.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 17 years, 11 months ago
You are the most annoying person in the world.

OK, stop looking smug and taking that as a compliment.
