A very lightly roasted Ethiopian coffee in the morning is one of life's finest pleasures. :)
Yum. I could've used a cup of that this morning once I got to work. It's a Monday. :)

How many others of you are decaf drinkers?
Coffee is one of the three basic food groups; the others are chocolate and peanut butter.
I almost didn't post that for that reason but I figured it was easier than making a separate forum.

coffee and I don't get along. Tea with milk for me in the morning.
Yeah, over half of Fruheads hate coffee? I almost didn't think to put that poll option in there. :)
To me it is completely blechy. I get my caffeine from mountain dew.
Every time I've tried coffee it tastes like an ashtray. people say "well, you gotta put a bunch of sugar and cream in it and it'll taste great"...but...I just don't care to have to work to make myself like the stuff. I don't think it's worth it to train myself to like something that's not really good for me anyway. :)

What? No! I've never understood adding cream and sugar. It just makes the coffee not taste like coffee. Of course, this coming from someone who's been known to just eat the beans when there isn't time to ground and brew any... On the flip side, I can't imagine getting my morning caffeine from mountain dew. I like the taste, but soooo much sugar. Now mixing coffee and mountain dew, that could work... You could market it as Toxic Waste!
I've eaten the beans too. Just one at a time. Not instead of coffee but as a little taste treat.
Here's a little hint. If you make something like a frappaccino put a few whole beans in the blender with the mix. It adds little bursts of flavor to the drink. One of the best coffeebars that Starbucks put out of business did that. I've eaten the beans too. Just one at a time. Not instead of coffee but as a little taste treat. What?!?!?! Straight up?? Not even chocolate covered? Ick! I like the occas choco covered espresso bean...but i don't think my tummy could handel them just plain.
The whole cream and sugar thing only makes sense to me because people drink coffee that's roasted way too dark - they need to mask the bitterness from the charcoal in their cups. Truly light roasts (which are almost impossible to find in stores, and are impossible to find in coffee shops) don't have any of that bitterness, but have a nice acidic kick to keep things interesting.
When I was a kid I used lots of sugar. Now I use none. I still like the milk though and yes I like it dark roasted.
Hey I'm the only one that likes dark roast.
