i can wear a hat if i'm running out just after i woke up because a)i dont care what my hair looks like and b) my hair is dry.
i prefer earmuffs or ear-wraps in the winter because my hair is usually wet and in a ponytail in the morning, because i'm afraid of blow-dryers.

My head is big and round. Wearing anything other than the most unstylish thermal cap just accentuates how big and round my head is. :-)
Why afraid? Not wanting crispy hair or like, actual fear? :) I never ever ever ever ever blowdry my hair. I don't like to damage it any more than I have to. Never blowdry, very rarely use "product"....it gets damaged sometimes when I get in the mood for a color change but I'm letting that rest indefinitely because I'm sick of changing. :)
i don't understand my hair stylist, she likes to comment on how my hair is so healthy, but then she wants me to blow dry it and colour it. *boggle*
mee too see. not only does it damage my hair (the only damage my hair has is the dye) but i'm all thumbs. i look like i'm on crack when i blow dry it. i get terrible flyaways and if i try to put any of the cremes or waxes or balms on my hair that the stylist does, i just turn into a greaseball. with flyaways. greasy flyaways. but the stylist? can always make it look great :/ what's up with that? today i went for "i can style this wet and it will dry nice" :P i was thinking of going with this haircutnext. would dry quicker :P

At least I think so. Fedoras and those caps... I'm a fan. I'm currently looking for a grey fedora with a floppy brim... I'm in NYC, I should be able to find it, yes?
(Hey, Sheryls... have you tried (a) a little bit of light mousse instead of a gel, or (b) spray wax? That stuff can hold my hair straight which is a superhuman feat. I've got TONS of madd curly hair, so I can't just blow it straight... when I do, I look like I stuck my finger in an electrical socket. A ceramic straightener and spray wax do the trick.)

I pretty much always wear hats to protect my head from the elements. About the only time I don't wear one outdoors is when there is mild weather and it is overcast or night. Even then I'll wear my Mets cap if I'm going to a game.
I wear them for practical reasons but I also like the way they look on me. They keep what little hair I have under control.
have you tried lanolin oil?
i'm using coconut oil right now. but i have to be VERY careful. my hair has to be wet or damp, and i have to use just the teeniest bit. or else it turns into an oilslick. :p however, it works GREAT. and is super cheap, big ass tub cost me a whole five CDN dollars.
i hate, hate, hate blow-drying my hair, but i've been doing it lately because it really seems to be the best way to keep it from frizzing out and making me look like an evil clown.

i wear hats whenever i'm going to be out in the sun for a lengthy period of time; otherwise, it's sunburn and heat exhaustion city for me. other than that, tho, i left my blossom phase behind a long time ago.

i have so little hair that hat-hair is a near impossibility for me... though it's growing out now. note to self: remedy that.
i have a moxy fruvous baseball cap that i wear a lot indoors, and a knitted cap for outdoors. i also have a top hat that i actually wear sometimes. then there's my kippah, which i wear to shul, and when i teach hebrew school.

I thank jebus for the winter time. I can get away with wearing beanies and my knit caps more often.
I need a fedora. Is it kosher for ladies to wear fedoras? ;) dood, I *so* knew you submitted this poll, and I know you had to have been thinking of me at frucon3 for at least half of that last answer. :D for what it's worth, I have nowembraced hats for when it's reallysupercold, because that old adage about losing a lot of heat through your scalp is quite on the mark, and I tend to be cold most of the time. not such a fan of them the rest of the year.

I wear hats. A lot. And they're always really big. and kind of weird.
I wear them when I go for walks mainly to keep my hair out of my face and to keep me warm. And maybe because I haven't showered that day. I actually have a hard time cleaning my room because of the hats in it. I mean, I've got like. more than six hats in there. (a big fuzzy yellow one that lights up, a santa hat, a black fuzzy hat, a fisherman's rainhat, a baseball cap that says "canEHdian", one that makes my head look like a snowball, and a bunch of other ones that are really just fabric that my friend sewed together for me.) I usually end up wearing them. All at once. And a pink feather boa and a bedsheet as a cape, and a bandana so I look like a bandit. Or an eyepatch. Or sunglasses. Or something else. My room is really. Really messy. I never get to clean it. But I wear the giant yellow one or the santa hat almost daily. I actually bought the giant yellow one so I wouldn't have to wear my santa hat everyday because it begins to smell like cheese. I suppose I look good in them too.
Of course I thought of you when I submitted this :-)
I looked at the pic, loved tha that, but I have one question. What do you feed it?

ooh!!
I like the berets, because there are so many different ways to wear them. I also have a black velvet "Blossom-style" hat with a huge velvet rose in the middle. I love it. I like newsboy caps, floppy straw sun hats, and knit caps. I used to have a Russian fur winter hat in sixth grade. Everyone made fun of me for it, but it rocked so hard. :) You must first create an account to post.
