Don't worry if you haven't heard of most of them, neither have I. One of the great things about SMAF is discovering new artists.
It is where I first saw We're About 9 (more than a year before they played FRFF), Cadence Carroll, and David Morreale.

It is the most intimate festival you'll ever go to. The performers and the audience mingle freely and everyone is invited to join in the song circle after the main stage set ends.

i have heard about 90% of the people on the bill, and about 90% of them are awesome. (it's just the lineup that's up, btw, not the schedule.) that being said, i'm only going if i make it into their songwriter showcase. which...is so not gonna happen, but hey, a girl can dream.

When you send in your tape put in a note that at least two of the performers think you are cute.

That wasn't quite the two I had in mind. Unless of course you think that the two that I had in mind came over to talk to us becuase they thought that I was cute.

then i only know the identity of one of those two. hrm.

;_; My brother and I bought tix about 5 months ago for the premier of the new organ @ the Kimmel Center for that weekend. So not cool!

Wait, Ronny Cox? The guy from Beverly Hills Cop? Captain Jellico from TNG? This guy?

Not really. Watch Deliverance and he is the guy playing the guitar. That's right, the Former Vice President and current Gu'ald host on Stargate SG-1 played Dueling Banjo's.

You forgot his most important accolade: Captain of the frickin' Enterprise

Though that title has been devalued some now that Scott Bakula holds it. Not to mention Cameron from Ferris Bueller....

And he was Red Foreman's boss in Robocop and took on the Govenator in Total Recall (election)

The man has done it all.

They changed the picture. That does look like Bea Arthur. I don't know who it really is.

Actually that is Ronny Cox, he is such a good actor he can look like Bea Arthur.

SMAF is in less than 2 weeks. Go! You'll have fun. I guarentee it.

Especially because I'll be there

nick annis is in the singer songwriter competition - don;t know if elizabeth crisfield will be with him. (he was also there last year without her). (she is a damn good violinist). nick is a really strong songwriter and has won several competitions of late. check him out. he also comes to falcon ridge (maybe this year they will select him for the showcase), and will definitely be hanging out at the GFP.
