Poll: What kind of person are you?

I like all kinds of pets but dogs are the best. I think the reason I like animals is because they like me.

I kinda wanted to go for the multiple option because I do love most animals and I love dogs a lot. But in the end, I am SUCH a cat person that I had to go with it. I mean...I love all the other animals but I'm OK with them not being in my life if circumstances don't allow it. But I just can't imagine ever not having at least one cat.

Though dog and cat are the big ones....

I don't think I'd ever wanna live without a cat in my life... but.... I looong for a doggie.

I'm waiting til I buy a house before getting a dog, though.
Trying to deal with a dog and apartments is just .... nuts.

tell me about it. try TWO dogs in an apartment. oy.

Me too. But I find when I'm around cats for any length of time I build up an immunity and the allergies go away.� I only have allergy attacks now when I go meet a new kitty at someone's home or something.

I'm only allergic to certain types of cats....

Long haired black cats don't seem to bother me at all.
it's weird.... I can, like, use them as a pillow and have no problems....

Most short haired cats make my eyes puff out and I can't breathe.... unless I take claritin.. which I do. :)

I had never met Adam's cats... and when I first met them... no problem at all.

Same with Christian's.

All 4 were long haired and black.
so... hence my theory. :)

How odd. I mean, I know dog breeds differ between "hair" and "fur" and that makes the difference in allergens...but...I didn't know of cat's having any appreciable difference in types of hair with allergens except for some very specific breeds.

What about long haired cats of other colors?? :)

I've not dealt with many long haired cats.... most people I've known either have these long haired black ones... or short haired other-colored cats.

But, my allergies are weird anyway..... I mean, I'm allergic to fish fish and not shellfish.... which is backasswards to the general population. :)

I should send you an envelope with bits of fur from my long haired kitties. One orange and one calico. :)

See, I wonder if that would do it.

I usually have to be around the cat for 10 or 15 minutes before it starts.....

I love dogs but I wasn't a fan of cats at all until I got Lister, now I can't imagine not having him around.

i *heart* ratties and mousies and puppies.

I love dogs. the bigger, the better. they just want to play all the time.

unfortunately my life right now is not conducive to pet ownership. between school and work, i just can't justify satisfying my want for a pet with how neglectful i would be.

i'm allergic to cats, and well. except for a few special cases (dorrie) cats don't do much for me.

I wish you could meet my lunatics.� Two of them THINK they're dogs anyway. :)

i grew up with cats & gerbils. at one point last year my house was home to five parrots, two rabbits & five fish. we are, sadly, down to five parrots & three fish now.
