They're just so useful for so many tasks, mainly holding down large quantities of papers from flying away. And I like putting my finger between them.
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I love to do that too. :)

they are also really useful if you discover that you've paired low-rise pants and a small shirt with granny panties and need some way to hide the granny panties. not that i've ever done that.

There's nothing like being on a long long call with a few pieces of paper and a hole punch. I used to sit and punch out lots and lots of little paper circles, then when I had enough piled up I'd dump them over my cube wall onto my friend Amy. She always took paper snow storms well. =D

I had one of these at my store. At first, I thought it was overkill, but I kept finding more uses for it.
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago

I've got one of those on the table behind me at my desk and share it with my neighbor. But. We have no staples for it so we're not actually sharing diddly. :)

I also have an ergonomic stapler thingie made to be held vertically instead of sitting horizontally on a desk. And then I have a normal desk one. Too many staplers. But at least they're all on the company dime. :)

Bruce Rose Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Can you ever really have too many staplers? :-)
Snow In Summer · 18 years, 11 months ago
This guy at work whom I used to date bought me a Red Swingline as a Christmas present a couple years ago. Sounds weird, but then again that whole relationship was very weird. It's way better than the crappy plastic staplers the company buys us. It's metal & can be used for stapling large bundles of papers or staple fights or throwing at cow-orkers. I love it... no one's going to take away my stapler. ;-)

I have one too! That Krissy K woman gave it to me last year along with an Initech mug & Post-It pad. :D

While I tend to just remove staples with my fingers, the staple remover makes a great dragon or snake toy.

Paperclips are a close runner-up though.

Am I the only person who makes little Nature/National Geographic documentaries with the office supplies when bored at work? Like the life-cycle of the tape-covered ball of rubber bands?

Yeah, I thought so ;-)
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Heh. I used to use office supplies and other assorted things in my desk to make sculptures and stuff. I used to have pics posted in my diaryland thingie but that's long since gone, as are the pics. But I've made some pretty awesome animals and such. :)
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago

And totally, with the staple remover being a chompy animal toy. I'm biting things with it all the time. ):

lawrence · 18 years, 11 months ago
the first two options made me think of this.
K-Lyn · 18 years, 11 months ago
You know...the plastic things that hold papers and stack on one another...I love those!!!
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago

Heheh I have a stack of those on my desk almost 3 feet tall. It doesn't help me organize much...it just gets things stuffed into it when I have to clear my desktop and pretend I'm not a slob.

sheryls · 18 years, 11 months ago
i voted paperclips, because i like to put them on the ends of my fingers and pretend i have claws! rowr!!!!
Andrea Krause Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I used to put black or green olives on my fingers as a kid and call them "frog claws". Not that that relates to office supplies, but it does relate to fake claws. :)
sheryls Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
i never called them claws, but i did the same thing, but only with black olives, because i used to hate green olives. but i loved to eat them off my fingers! :D
Cali · 18 years, 11 months ago
paperclips are the best because theres so much to do with them. you can make them into paper clip people and have a party or make them into evil little men and have them battle or make a paperclip chain and use it to trap people or annoy people by throwing them at their head or you could bend them and use them to fling things or you could just hold papers together. paperclip is deff. the best.
