I need help. I just got a call from a fellow fan who heard a radio commercial for Land Rovers with mysteriously British voices talking about how how mind-bogglingly big the universe is... Now, I have not heard it yet (and hope I never do) but I tried to find something online to see if Doug was credited and can find nothing. Now I'm afraid to turn on the radio... Anyone else heard this?

H...itch H...iker's G...uide to the G...alaxy HHGG or H2G2
ohh, i see, two aitches, two gees. i thought it was the "to."
it still seems like a weird abbreviation.
(though i know it is the predominant one)
but nothing squared is two...

Ahem, I am the resident math geek, you are on my turf!
Sorry all that radical two talk made me irrational.
(please don't kill me)

Don't be so negative. I'm positive I didn't see any sine indicating this was your territory. I'm sure that's the root of the problem.
its integral that we all get along here! you guys are just proof that all math nerds are skewed. It's just plane wrong to fight.
Now this thread is going off on such a tangent! Just get to the root of the problem and move on. There's an acute lack of focus around here. Be rational! Maybe we're all just too obtuse.
This is hardly model behavior, you know. Factoring in your current attitude there's no way I'm going to cosin that loan now!
I wish I could differentiate when you were kidding. Thants an integral part of the equation.
She's only serious a fraction of the time. I've yet to intersect with her at a point in time that she is. Maybe in a parallel universe, who knows! Maybe one where pis r square?

C4ISR. Don't even ask me what it means, but it's in my former branch name.
I haven't heard it, but I'm sure there was at least permission given. Who knows? maybe it's an exerpt from the upcoming movie. For those of you who aren't familiar with the radio series, I was looking over the cast list and was pleased to see that on the cast list are members FROM the original radio series. I have high hopes that this will be an EXCELLENT movie...even if Ford Prefect will be black.
A long long time ago, when I used to dabble on the Hollywood Stock Exchange, I had some stock in the H2G2 movie. I wish I knew my login information so I could see if it was worth anything now. :-P

My mantra since finding out the movie was moving forward has been Please don't suck...Please don't suck...(repeat) But I keep reminding myself that it's basis is the most wholly remarkable book ever written so it should do well. I'd have gone for some stock too... And would someone please tell me that I DO NOT need to bid on the stupid promo towel on ebay?
you DO NOT need to bid on the stupid promo towel on ebay. (better?)

You live under a rock? You were lucky. When I was a lad we'd have killed for a rock. We lived in a box on side of road. We were beaten constantly, got up 2 hours before we went to bed, worked 24 hours a day... Those were the good old days. The sketch went something like that anyway..
and then...we'd have to lick to road clean...WITH OUR TONGUES!
and when our da came home, he'd KILL US! and DANCE ON OUR GRAVES, singin' HALLELUJIAH!
*cough*
Rocks hadn't been invented when I was a kid.

But Marvin is SOOOOOOO wrong!!!!
no, he's sooooooooooo depressed :P

Yes, but a depressed tiny bubble of a robot is NOT what was in those books. He was large and silver... I had always hoped they would get Ben Stein as Marvin's voice.

But major changes were made between all of the versions. It would be an affront to the spirit of the work to keep everything the same.
I wonder how close they stayed to DNA's original design plans for the film.

Well, there were always some differences (John Malkovich's character in the movie will be one such new addition) but I think changing a character from the clear descriptions that were consistant in the radio series, book, illustrated book, etc. is not so cool. Doug had started the film before he died and they've bene working from his script and notes on his harddrive, etc.
