Discussion: Get Rani Arbo to Falcon Ridge
J. Andrew World · 20 years, 9 months ago

As some of you know, I am a fan of Rani Arbo and daisy mayham. Sence 2000 when they formed, I have been following them (Ok, So I saw them twice in 2000, but I wasn't a fan until the December 31st show.) Sence then, I have been trying to covert people to arboism.

Now I am asking *YOU* for your help. Rani Arbo and daisy mayham are headliners, and would be a hit at Falcon Ridge. However, they can't do it without your help. After headlining at Vancouver and Edmonton Folk fests, I think they need some local lovin' and get into Falcon Ridge.

What do they sound like? I am glad you ask. They sound like a wide veriaty of genre's; from Southern Gospil to Acoustic Swing, from Modern Folk to apalation music. They also do a wide veriaty of covers, from Frank Sinatra to Anne Murray to Georgia Sea Island Singer to Dave Carter. I once described them as The Mammals meets Eddie From Ohio doing String Swing.

To here an mp3, click here: http://www.efolkmusic.com/dnldMusic.asp?s=F&t=I%20Do%20My%20Cryin`%20at%20Night,%20I%20Do%20My%20Cryin`%20at%20Night&fn=arbo_cryin.mp3

Lets get a band who should be headlining there next year at the festival!

I think more people need to hear there music, So here is another mp3. This is one of my favorate songs. It's called "Turtle Dove."

Plus you can clearly hear Scott Kessel's home made drum kit. It's a cardboard box with bean and cat food tins attatched to it, a cookie tin, a really tiny cymbol, he sits on a home made traditional cuban drum, has an old conga drum, and 2 bass petals; one hits a tamboreen, and the other to an old suit case.
