it's not like people are actually masturbating publicly. they're just discussing it. I think that being able to discuss it in a forum like this is very healthy - I mean, it is normal and suggesting that it should be repressed and taboo, as has been done for a very long time, suggests that it is not normal and that people who do it are somehow wrong/different/evil/all of the above.

There are a lot of normal, natural, and even more necessary things that people need to do everyday and if we were talking about those, then I think a lot more people would be kind of put off by talking about it, regardless of how universal they are.
