Just a quick hello

   Discussion: Just a quick hello
BluMunk · 20 years, 11 months ago

Hi all. I'm new to the site, and a relatively new Moxy Fruvous fan. I've known about them for a while (had a friend in an a capella group that did a version of King of Spain), but never really went out and found other stuff of theirs. I lived with a roommate recently who had Live Noise, through which I've developed a definite love of MF. So, you may see me poking around this site now and again.

Uh-oh, another Nate-From-Vermont? (ok, fine, he's in Mass now, but he's from Vermont) You're going to need to change your name. And move. I vote that we change it to "Steve", and you move to New Brunswick.

So, welcome, Steve-From-New-Brunswick!
goovie is married! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
personally, i think we should all change our names to "steve-from-new-brunswick."
renita Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
change? change?

you mean, we AREN"T all named "steve-from-new-brunswick"?

I'm so confused. >.<

*snort*
:D
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

We could rename the existing one Nate-en-Masse

BluMunk Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

Hm... I guess that works for me, as long as I get to enjoy some of the many perks of being a New Brunswickian like... um... um... hey, isn't New Brunswick the place where they have the tide that makes the river flow backwards?

I think I'll go for a stroll around the block and see if I can find it.

New Brunswick, which has Rugters, the State University of New Jersey and is home to Johnson and Johnson? Or is there another New Brunswick that others are thinking of?

Oh, and welcome steve-from-new brunswick! Enjoy your stay here and try the veal!
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

I believe they're talking about the Canadia place, not Joisey. :)

ChrisChin is Getting Old Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
ah...well, that would make a bit more sense for the rivers and the tides and such. My mind just thinks in its NYC Metro area-centric way.

I'm guessing you're talking about the tides in the bay of fundy.

sorry SfNB

that's Nova Scotia. not New Brunswick.

you'd better brush up on facts about your new home, my friend.
BluMunk Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

Not according to this site!

http://www.tourismnewbrunswick.ca/Cultures/en-CA/Categories/NBayOfFundy.htm

Don't argue with the expert of his hometown culture and aquatic oddities!

renita Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
dood. heh.

apparently this west coaster just got her come-uppance.

after a quick atlas check ... it appears... we're both right-ish.

the bay of fundy runs right up in between the two provinces. so. yah, the bay belongs to both.

Acrobat reader map

*bashful*

it's funny though, I still think of it as more of a nova scotia thing than new brunswick, maybe cause I visited it from that side. *shrug*

anyhoo. I apologise. go check out your backwards running rivers in New Brunswick all you want Steve.

edit: figured it out. the hydro-electric systems that run off of the tides seem to be in the Nova Scotian side. That's the big reason we learn about the bay of fundy in school.

I just figured I'd close the tag

Grrr, wrong tag.
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Are you feeling all right?????
renita Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
weird.

I noticed it, and edited. but my edit didn't work.

ah well, I equal youin typos, it was time for a non-closed tag ;D
BluMunk Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

Oh, while I'm here, how do I get my picture to appear with my posts?

-SfNB

Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
First you need a 75x75 pic to use as an icon. Then if you click on someone else's picture it'll bring you right to the screen where you can upload your own. (You can also do this through your profile but the way I mention is faster. :) )

BluMunk Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

I've got it uploaded and all... oh, I think it's not 75x75... I was using lj specs.

I'll fix it and give it another go.

BluMunk Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Ha, there we go. Thanks!
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago

Yay! :)

goovie is married! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
oooh. make sure you post your lj name to the "fruhead ljs" forum thread!
hkath Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Well, unless you don't want all of us friending you, or something ;) No pressure ;)
goovie is married! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
yeah, i know. but the *cool* people always announce their lj names and friend all the fruheads. :)

I would so buy a t-shirt with that on it.
Joe Navratil Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Yeah, all it would need is a Budgieborg.

Who's feeling artsy?
Andrea Krause Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
Or a borgiedog. :)
Nik Chaikin Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
I still want an fhdc t-shirt. my fav that we came up with was "FHDC: 5000 fans of an obscure Canadian band on hiatus can't be wrong."
100% dainty! Back · 20 years, 11 months ago
