Cover Versions...

   Discussion: Cover Versions...
Magical Bob · 21 years, 1 month ago

Hey guys! I was just wondering about some cover versions the frulads did, such as some Beatles tunes, an ABBA song or two, and a few others. These songs do not appear on the albums, but I would love to get my hands on some. Is there any site I can go to to get these songs? Esp. if I can get them free (I'm poor). I really appreciate the help! Thanks.

I'd start by looking for a copy of the 10/31/98 Iron Horse show. I've heard rumors of it eventually being torrented ;-) That night, being Halloween, the guys perfomed as "The Chia Pets, plus Dave" and they played covers all night long (except perhaps the final encore, depending on how pedantic you want to be). Reviews and setlist are here: http://fruvous.com/98rev/981031.html

I'm not sure that a canonical list of all of the covers Fruvous ever did exists; the list would be rather long.

I really want that show, I haven't been able to get it from anyone as of yet.

Hmm...if I'm bored I might try to put together a list of covers. I do things like that when I'm bored. :D

I'd also love a copy of that show. Unfortunately, I'm on dial-up so a torrent isn't especially helpful. Anyone generous enough to do a B&P trade? *pleads*

(Iron Horse Show? What's that? Will try though. Thank you!)

I meant to say, where can I get the MP3 form of the songs? I found a copy of Green Eggs and Ham on Audiogalaxy, but that site is long dead. My newest music site doesn't have the frulads on it. I really, really, really want to be able to play these songs so I can compare the quality of Fruvous to standard groups. I also want to hear how the boys sang Dancing Queen, which features a female voice as the lead. Thank you again!

They used Jian and nobody could tell the difference. :)

it's difficult to get your hands on MP3's now. I could probably IM mine to you. What's your screenname?

THEY USED JIAN!?!? That is so funny. I will tell my ABBA obsessed friends that. IM? Why don't you just tell me how you got it in the first place? I don't feel comfortable giving out my screen name. Sorry. Jian sang a girls part. Tee-hee!

just a tip... on each post there is a reply button.

It makes it a lot easier to follow if you use that rather than the form at the bottom of the page, which is meant for new posts.
:)

Well I got a lot of them from the files my friend sent me, a lot of which I can no longer find on the internet. But check Kazaa and overnet.
Magical Bob Back · 21 years, 1 month ago
Thank you! I will check those out. But didn't Kazaa get shut down? Will check anyways though. Thanks also to the person who mentioned the 'reply button'. I knew it looked stupid to break up the order of the posting. Thank you for the tip.

*cough* got a kazaa lite setup file from my boyfriend and could send it to you *cough*

*hopes the kazaa people don't read this*

NEVER update kazaa lite. That will give you spyware.

*runs from kazaa people*
