Well, I voted for Solstice. And while I do mark the solstice as well, the Christmas equilvalent would actually be Yule. :)

It's Festivus for the rest of us.

Channukah and Christmas.

New Years too. We're about to hit the middle part of the decade. I could start really disturbing myself and come up with a list of things that are now ten years old ;-)

Ditto.

I don't know that I really celebrate both holidays, but I observe them both.

how about a "Channukah but spelled one of the other ways" option? :)
nate... Back · 20 years, 6 months ago
yeah!

I personally spell it "christmas".

i think that string would go on for days :)
I remember last week in my dorm, someone had spelled it Hannuka. so we went around jokingly pronouncing it "HANN-OOOKAH"
Yeah. had to be there :)

I've seen "Haunakka".
Zach · 20 years, 6 months ago
I figure most people already celebrate it like I do. I may as well put a name to it. Happy Capitalistmas, everyone!
nate... Back · 20 years, 6 months ago
no way.

Sorry, but I really think that ruins the whole spirit of it.

For me, the whole idea of christmas is spending time with my family... cooking together... sitting by the fire and talking....

The whole shopping thing is just a secondary factor.
100% dainty! Back · 20 years, 6 months ago

WORD!

I make most of my gifts. . . which does involve spending money I know. but christmas for me is barely about the presents. that's just a nice factor.

Happy Christmukkah, everyone!

Aw, someone had to say it. I have to go watch that episode again, then I'm running away to marry the fictional character who invented the holiday.

In tonight's Robbie (from EFO) show at Jammin' Java, Bernie (of DVN) opened for him and played a song that wished everyone a Happy Christhanukkahmas.
renita · 20 years, 6 months ago
with a little Festivus on the side ;D
stealthlori · 20 years, 6 months ago
... and I celebrate Hannukah with friends and some family.

And then there's Festivus ... for the restofus.

The emphasis for none of these is shopping per se, although some must be done. I like to be done most of the prep work by today -- Solstice -- so that I can enjoy the season in peace and light and music and relationships.
