come on now, admit it. we've all had a crush on a cartoon character at some time or another. (damn those animators.) here's your chance to name any animated creatures you've fancied in the past (orindeed, thepresent). :D bah. okay fine then. :D let's see, first up, when i was five i had a total crush on the cartoon version of ghostbusters' peter venkman. :D oh, and i also had a crush of sorts on he-man. o_O and then i fancied disney's aladdin for, like, years. *le swoon* i had athing forfreakazoid for a while for some reason, and i remember i had this dream where he came to my school and asked me out (wtf?!) :D oh. and right now i have an absurd little crush on arnold (of hey arnold fame), because he's such a gentleman. and i loff his check shirt and sweater combo. :D i'm sure there's a really obvious one i'm missing here. hmm. I had a total crush on the redhead chick Thundercats girl. And the pink princess girl on Voltron. And not animated, but I totally crushed on Death and Morpheus in Sandman. Mmmm...I thought most depictions of her were achingly beautiful. *grin* that would be princess allura, dear :) here, just for you: http://www.voltron.8m.com/Allura.jpg http://www.comune.modena.it/glamazonia/mij/cronologie/e-i/imm_e-i/voltron-mg004.jpg hee Cheetara?Oh, I agree...nice little crush going on there. On Voltron, I liked Sven, the guy who was in the black and white uniform that Princess Allura replaced. He was pretty cute. On Voltron, I liked Sven, the guy who was in the black and white uniform that Princess Allura replaced. He was pretty cute I sooooooo had a thing for Keith - the black lion rider who wore the red and white uniform. Talk about your hottie!!!!! Most recently it's been Inu Yasha...ok, so he's half demon, rude, crude, and obnoxious with very little manners.....he's still cute in that sorta-looks-like-a-puppy-dog (literaly) way. Also not so much a crush as i just think she's way cool...Ed from Cowboy Bebop
*sigh* death...
Of course we all lusted after Morpheus, but were turned off by his attitude... he is *really* not relationship material. We determined this early on. Though I fear her, I'm very attracted to Delirium.
Not that you have a problem with girls who are too young for you. ;)
penny from inspector gadget and april o'neil from tmnt were neal's favorites.
i think i had crushes on raphael from tmnt, and bumblebee from transformers. yes, a turtle and a robot. so what?
I knew you had a thing for turtles but robots are news to me. It puts things in a totally different light.
how did i know you'd have a comment to make?
at least i never had a crush on a gorilla. *sigh* I'll play... just cause. Keith - Voltron (Lion Series) there are more, but I'm blanking on them at the moment Angie mmm... Remy.... he is by far still my favourite X-Men character. animated, i like the 1st show & not the characters in Evolution so much. hopefully they'll get him in the next movie. then of course, there's Vash the Stampede from Trigun. or maybe it's just the red trenchcoat i love so much... you decide. so anyway... the first thing i thought of when i saw this category was that scene in Wayne's World where Garth asks if Wayne ever thought Bugs Bunny was attractive when he dressed up as a girl bunny... you know the scene i'm babbling about. see, that's the exact quote i was fumbling for when i started this forum, but couldn't quite remember what it was or where it was from. :D Garth: "Did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played a girl bunny?" heeee. :D i think there's another quote from somewhere about fred flintstone's wife, but again, can't remember it or where it was from. gah. :D
I think the flintsone's quote was on an SNL episode when they had a top ten list of the hottest babes. Betty Rubble was one of them, i think. so was garth`s mom
there's also one in Red Dwarf. Lister and Cat.
Lister: Do you think Wilma Flintstones sexy? Maybe weve been in deep space too long, but every time I see her on that show that body drives me crazy. Is it me? Cat: I think, in all probability, that Wilma Flintstone is the most desirable woman who ever lived. Lister: Thats good. I thought I was going strange. Cat: Shes incredible. Lister: Whadya think of Betty? Cat: Betty Rubble? Well.I would go with Betty. But Id be thinking of Wilma. Lister: This is crazy. Why are we talking about going to bed with Wilma Flintstone? Cat: Youre right. Were nuts. This is an insane conversation Lister: Shed never leave Fred and we know it. oh I love that! (Listy and the cat!) one of the most classic moments in TV history for Rod and I! I remember having a crush on Peter from the Ghostbusters cartoon, and Spiderman! mmmmmmmmSpiderman..... ~J~
Yes, Vash is exceedingly crush-worthy.
I'm in love with Spike from Cowboy Bebop. yes yes, replying to m'self: for those with failing memories like me... may i offer for assistance: i'm off "researching" ta angie - who ordered Robotech complete DVD collections for Masters and New Generation just this past thurs *grin* OMG! You remember Robotech! how sweet is that! Okay, here goes... Robotech - Max Sterling (Macross) and Sean Phillips (Masters) Nightcrawler (TOTALLY!) from the X-Men And let's not forgot Optimus Prime. I know, I know, He was a transformable Mack truck, but my God...His voice was so...so...sexy. I always told my friends that if he were human I would make love to him. Sigh... Trent Lane, Jane's brother on Daria. That boy...damn :)
trent rocked the casbah. oOposer exposed! hoser dehosed! i should step on your toes! you're deposed!Oo
ha. i know a real-life jane. she was in my art class, and she spoke like jane and looked like jane and everything. woo. oh, and it's my ultimate ambition to go to a fancy dress party as daria and for no-one to have the faintest idea who i'm supposed to be. :D
jane rocked, too.
and i used to be able to do all the voices of the fashion club girls. but that has nothing to do with the topic. two years at my curent college and I still get called daria on the occasions when I smack some sense into the yuppiefreshmen. They mistake my sharp wit for cynicism. *S*
when i was in high school, i was daria & my friend Spigs was jane. it was almost creepy when i 1st saw the show daria all these years later (we didn't have cable). i really was bookish & cynical... & spigs really was very artistic, she just didn't have a brother like Trent. ;-)
Hmmm...let's see...I admit that I had a crush on Iceman on Spiderman and His Amazing Friends, but only in his Iceman form and also Firestar, but only when she was out of her outfit. Then there was Cyclops/Scott from X-Men (the live action Cyclops from the movie is pretty hot too) and the guy who flew the helicopter/motorcyclevehiclefrom M.A.S.K. Oh and Lady Jaye and Snake Eyes from GI Joe....I watched way too many cartoons as a kid. :) woah... and just what episode showed Firestar out of her outfit? ;) I was so gonna bring up M.A.S.K. and GI Joe, but I'm blanking on the characters names... and then i just got distracted by surfing 80's cartoons :D angie
Well.. I used to have a crush on Peter Pan.. until someone sent me a link to a site with this crazy guy who was dressed up as Peter Pan, now I can't even watch the friggin movie without thinking about it.
Other then him, I also had a crush on Trent from Daria, and the princess from Aladdin.
Jason from Battle of the Planets. Which seems to be a show highly localized in popularity. :)
This is a good site about the show Battle of the Planets is what got me into Americanized Japanimation and later high quality Anime... actually, it started with Thunderbirds 2086, then Battle of the Planets, then Voltron, then Robotech, then nothing for a very long time until college and a friend had Robotech on video... and then I saw Vampire Hunter D, and Akira, and Venus Wars... and i was hooked... but i digress... Battle of the Planets rocked the house... although I always had to laugh at the bad guy from SPECTRA because it looked like he was wearing lipstick ;) I didn't have a crush on him but Keyop was my fave character.. .esp after finding out why he spoke so strangely in the american version ;)
Ang - you rock! :)
I just picked up the first 2 eps of Battle of the Planets on DVD - happy happy person. I've only watched the first one so far but I'm having a lot of fun revisiting my childhood. I should make an icon...
Which one was the redhead on GI Joe? I'm blanking all these years later. But I had a crush on her.
I had a small crush on the "normal life" counterpart to Jem. I can't remember her name. Pink-hair Jem was too over the top. I loved that show. I think it was mostly because it was a rare cartoon where people wore different outfits. Most cartoons pissed off a clotheshorse like me because the animators were too lazy to make different outfits. :) Jerrica Benton. know what's scarier (and Norg can attest to this)? I remember a bunch of the songs from the show and no, i didn't buy any of the cassettes or dolls that came with cassettes. Poor Kimber... she really was the red-headed stepchild, wasn't she? Angie I always figured it was animation laziness. :) Easier to pump out weekly animation when you didn't need to worry about continuity with outfits. Just always make 'em the same.
It isn't reallyabout laziness, it is about speed. They have to produce those drawings at a tremendous rate and they train themselves to draw the characters in their standard costume.

All of the Thundercats. Except the annoying kid ones they added in later years. But, yeah - all of them...I'm just a Thundercats Ho...

I used to make fun of my friend for having a crush on Ariel, the Little Mermaid. Of course he was in his thirties at the time.
and who doesn't like a perky mermaid wearing a sea-shell bra? (and a toothpick waist!) I'LL KILL THAT SKINNY BITCH! *cough* bygones.... ~J~

i've always had this thing for Lisa Hayes and Rooks from the robotech series back in the 80's. sigh......
I'm so glad you didnt' add Lynn Minmei to that list... otherwise I'dve had to crawl through this forum and *thwap* you ;) I think one of my favorite moments was watching Macross- Do You Remember Love (one of the original Japanese productions that theUS Robotech was based on) and Minmay (Minmei)was going off on one of her typical spoiled whiney tirades and Hikaru (Rick Hunter) hauls off and slaps her... and they show it in slow motion too... A friend of mine still hunts online for pics of Nova Satori from the Masters Saga, man did he have a thing for her... :) Angie
haha! i have an episode of that on tape somewhere. :D

ivaguely remember an ep of teenage mutant ninja turtles whereshredder took off his mask and was revealed to be totally hot. yeah. :D
ohhhhh yes, i remember now. i had a crush on leonardo. the turtle. yes, i know he's a turtle. shut up. :D
i had a crush on leonardo. the turtle. yes, i know he's a turtle. shut up. :D I had a thing forRaphael (he was the sarcasitc one in red, right?) from the first Turtle movie....i think i just felt sorry for him cuz he was the one that got ambused and had the stuffing beat out of him.
yup. poor raphael, losing his sai. on a side note, i believe donatello in the movie was voiced by corey feldman.
oh, and i certainly do not have a cartoon crush on brian, the talking dog from family guy. nope, not me. It's okay because Brian dates humans. btw, when I saw the episode where Brian thinks he fathered puppies with Seabiscuit (or whatever that dog's name was) I was oddly disturbed. He is a dog too, afterall. But I guess you can't have it both ways. You can't date both dogs and humans.
seabreeze (we just got the second vd set and watched that one last night). i was more disturbed that the puppies were actually fathered by ted turner. :)
leonardo, michelangelo, and donatello make up the team with one other fellow: raphael! he's the leader of the crew transformed by the nuclear goo!
*cough* how sad is it that the song always bugged me because it id'ed raphael as the leader, not leonardo?
i've never heard the song, but i was thinking the same thing as i read your post.
that song bugged me to no end for just that reason. you are not alone. i loved the movies. i adored the comic book. i ... thought the cartoon was an ok passtime between the comics and the movies. (: the soundtrack for the cartoon was pretty cool tho ... at least, from my memory of it. -= george =-
hmmm... the song i remember has Leonardo as the leader
Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (he's a radical rat) Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines (that's a fact!) Raphael is cool but rude (gimme a break!) Michaelangelo is a party dude! (PARTYYYYYYYYY!)
that's the cartoon theme. "turtle power" is the rap by partners in kryme that was the theme song to the first movie.

my keyboard is broken. i'll stop posting now. :/

dmitri from anastasia was *hot*. yowza. and yeah, i think i had a crush on aladdin, too. damn that princess jasmine and her overly-large come-hither eyes... but back in high school, my friends used to accuse me of always going for guys that resembled doug, of nicktoons fame, either in manner or in appearance or both. so maybe i was living out a cartoon fantasy, in one way or another? ...and maybe i'm revealing too much. heh. right-o. carry on. Demitri from Anastasia was hot for many reasons...not least of which was that he was voiced by one John Cusack....talk about your hottie!!!!!!!! on a non-cartoon side note...i really can't wait unti Runaway Jury comes out next month. "come-hither" eyes? *laugh* i've not heard that one before. goes right up there with the description of a car's color i once heard as "Hello Officer Red"... -= george =-

i totally crushed on Disney's Robin Hood - yes, he was a fox, but omg.
see, people always ask what actors i crush on. i dont, really, i crush on characters, which is why it's easy for me to crush on cartoon characters, even if they're not human. o.O actors who consistantly play crush-worthy characters (johnny depp, anyone?) are more likely to be on a "Well i guess i crush on.." list.
omg, disney's robin hood. yes, please.
and did i already say justin in the secret of nimh? cos. yes. for the same reasons. sometimes i think it's amazing i didn't grow up to be a furry. :P
same thing as robin hood for me--he was all brave and dashing and handsome. :P
*sighswoons* over Robin Hood
And he was so good with kids... and that is *so* attractive And... and... *dies*

If you have sex with a cartoon character they should put you in a cel.

Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura/ Tsubasa: Resevoir Chronicle
Kyo from Fruits Basket Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin and this is not technically a manga, but more a manga related webcomic: Piro from Megatokyo (www.megatokyo.com) - yeah I could definalty go for the slightly-dorky-but-cute anime fan.
I think the "anime fan" part puts *anyone* farther along the dorkmeter than "slightly" ;P
(Not that that's necessarily a bad thing -- You're talking to the girl who taught herself to read hieroglyphs and is currently planning to work her ass off for a year so she can spend at *very* least four more reading hieroglyphs every day.)
Don't work your ass off, that could prove very awkward when you go to the bathroom.

wow, this is an old thread... how did you even find it to bump it?
but I read the whole thing and I'm appalled that nobody mentioned
DAPHNE.
For serious. She's like the original sexy cartoon hot mama. Those legs! The way she posed. C'mon, man.
But Daphne was so dumb...Velma was way hotter. I also liked Rio from Jem and Francine from SiP.
