As has been observed before Fruheads are an obsessive lot. We talk alot about our musical passions, how about your passions outside of music. What do you spend an inordinate amout of time or money doing?
I tend to read a lot. Reading is good. I like the theater. I play video games like a nerd. I like movies. Movies are fun. Uh...Art. Modern art is great. I write a whole lot. Usually I write more interestingishly, but right now I'm kinda tired and surrounded by relatives. Writing is most definitely my number one passion.
I write a lot, that's what I do when I'm feeling really low. I'll go to some 24 hr coffee place, denny's or Sherry's usually, and write all night until I feel all the tension in myself go away. I read a lot too. But my true passion is socks. I loooove socks. They're wonderful, and they have so many uses.
Heeheehee... Oh, man. I know what you're talking about. I obsess over ANYTHING in the Legend of Zelda series. As you can tell from my little avatar dealie. The only thing that dissapoints me about that is that I never really finished Majora's Mask... no insentive, I guess, considering there is no Zelda in that game.
Oh, and Buffy. I LOVE Buffy. I'm SO upset that it's over... but I have DVDs to satisfy my weekly Buffy cravings. ;o) And, it was great, my boyfriend thought that my obsession for Buffy was weird until he actually watched an episode and was all, "Wait, this is good, I like it." Yeah, and then the series ended. Serves him right.
It took a certain cute redhead years before she'd listen to me and try Buffy. Of course now she has the DVDs and I don't even have a DVD player.
*ahem*
yup, i love buffy now. but i guess my biggest nonmusical passions are reading and writing. oh. and pez dispensers. :P
Gardening. :)
I'm very into hausplants during the winter... and the veggie garden during the summer. During the summer, the garden is where I spend the majority of my time. I'm amazed more people don't have home veggie gardens! Nothing like tomatoes fresh off the plant. mmm.
As Guy Clark sings:
There's only two things that money can't buy That's true love and home grown tomatoes Oh yeah and Ellen! Those are really the only 2 things I need!

Dancing that is... which probably shouldn't actually count because it's music related, but aside from music fests or cons... swing is the only thing that will convince me to travel any great distance...
I dance almost every Saturday night, and sometimes Thursdays or Fridays or Sundays... depending on if I can hitch a ride. so yah, dance is my other passion right now.

Well, aside from being passionate about music andvegging out in front of the TV after a long day's work, I guess there are a couple of other things that peak my interest. Among other things, I love photography, particularly cityscape/landscape photo-taking (and I also like to dabble in taking pictures of my nephew. :). I love food and to eat! I'm passionate about baking and cooking when I have the opportunity to do so...I go giddy like a school kid in a candy store if I end up in a Bed, Bath and Beyond, Corning Outlet Store,or a Whole Foods. I also get the same feeling to a lesser effect when I go into a Staples (yay office supplies!), or a Best Buy, B&H Photo, or another type of electronic store. So yes, I'm geeky like that. I'm also very into contra dancing and consider myself to be somewhat decent afteryears of trying to figure out what the heck I'm doing.Yes, it is related to music, (and it's very cool when my partner and I are in time to the music) but the actual act of dancing has its own merits. It's so fun when you spin and spin and keep on spinning from figure to figure...maybe I just like to be spun around. :).

Ever since I've gotten to college, I've embraced music more and more...but back in the day I was a crazy tennis player, stage crew grrl, juggler, unicycler, ultimate frisbee hucker, track person, and so on...but having given up a lot of those things for more musical activities has been some of the best choices I made recently.
