Poll: What is your favorite season? |
Discussion:
What is your favorite season?
spring all the way, baby!! i was born in spring. i love the smell of spring. i love the melting of snow and the cool breezes that are spring. i love the smell of wet dirt. the smell of gardens and the feel of having jeans & a tshirt on and having the windows open, not having to change clothing to go outside (or add more)..not having to use the A/C.. i..just..love..spring. :)
Spring spring spring.
Cool, but not too cold. Warm, but not too hot. The trees turn green again. Baseball season begins. More hours of daylight. And most importantly, the end of winter.
what? no "insensitive clod" option. i was so looking forward to using that...

I had a hard time choosing on this one because I love every season except summer. Fall is beautiful, and the crisp winds are wonderful. Winter snow is wonderful. Spring storms and colors are wonderful. Summer is hot and unwonderful.
I had a tough time choosing between winter and fall.
I love them both..... Fall is so lovely.. beautiful crisp air... lovely colors... great for hiking.. and it brings with it the promise of winter to come. Winter... I just love... I love cold crisp air, snow to play in... walking out in the morning and getting that wonderful feeling of the cold air on your face, and your breath hanging in the air. mm... love it. But I agree on summer.. it's just hot.. you're trapped indoors... and you can't do anything about it. In other seasons, you can put on layers to be warm... in summer, there's only so many layers you can take off... and then it's still too hot.
I went for Fall, but I'm with you on this... I like every season but summer.
yep. i'm with josh too. although spring is my favorite, i hate summer. i hate wearing shorts. i feel *really* uncomfortable in them. and bathing suits. and tank tops. and wearing anything else in the summer is uncomfortable and sweaty. blech. that and my skin *friiiiiiiiiiiies* so bad.
Heh. Yeah, I remember during one of my school years in Pittsburgh it rained once for an entire month. Without stopping. I'm not making that up. It slowed down now and then, but never stopped.

I also had a hard time choosing, just because of the timing of this poll. In late spring, summer, fall, or winter, my favorite season is fall. However, in early spring, spring is unquestionably my favorite, because it's such a welcome change from winter. Those first days (like, Saturday, Sunday, and today) that I can go outside without a coat are just so wonderful. (Not that I don't like winter, mind you...I've just always had enough of it by the time spring hits.) And I've always lived in climates where spring tends to be a sudden, drastic change. I mean, I'm always glad when it cools down after a hot summer, but it feels like it happens more gradually, so it doesn't have the same effect. To make a long story short, right now, spring is my favorite season. In a few weeks, and for the rest of the year, fall will be.

Why isn't baseball season a choice you insensitive clod?
And how about Pete Best?
I think it's the same as the girls snapping each others bras in the locker room, it's an uncomfortable thing, but you feel you have to do it. I did anyhow. Hee hee, I was the evil bra snapping... girl. I accidentally snapped one to hard and it left a big bruise on one girls back. I was suspended for a week for it.
Um....my locker room experiences have never involved bra-snapping.... (or suit snapping when I was on the swim team)...
For those of you who have been calling me an insensitive clod... Not happy with the poll questions or options? Then let's see you do better, really! Suggest a poll! :)

i voted summer! because over here we have about 2 weeks of hot weather in july and then it just rains for the rest of the year. so it's bearable. *smirk* :)
i goes for summer. in ohio it can suck with suckitude, but get somewhere dryer & it's great.
& you got to be loyal to your birthday season.
Well, summer in Nashville is pretty humid, hot, and miserable. It's not as bad in Ohio, but still pretty miserable...except at night time.
But in California, it's grrrrreat. Perfect humidity, temperature, and sunshine. Plants growing like crazy, only a few truly *hot* days of the year (which seem like nothing compared to Nashville.) I live in California now. So I voted for summer. mmmmmm.....

I didn't vote. Summer and winter pretty much even out. (When you're in school, summer has more benefits)

Autumn all the way. The best sky, the best air, the season of modern rebirth. Everything becomes cool again, and the bad memories of summer just fade away. Winter is a close second. The weather is cold, so it's always comfortable inside. The smell of snow is in the air, and ice and snow cover everything. The sky at night is as bright as day (at least in the city) and the best shade of pale orange. Spring is nice for the first few days. As much as I love cold, the ability to go out without a coat is a fun novelty. However, this is the season of death and anxiety. The snow melts, leaving only mud in dead grass. Meanwhile, the air is humid, and is filled with nervous energy. This all clears out at the end, but by then it is close to the worst season of all
I love autumn - beautiful cool weather, the harvest festivals, but mostly the gorgeous colours. Especially around these parts with the maple trees and sumach among others. The only bummer is that I know winter is around the corner. Winters here in the snow belt are long, cold, monotonous and drawn out. It's nice for about 2 weeks but after about 4 months, it really starts to wear thin. When the snowbanks reach the 6 foot mark I am definitely ready for it to bloody well end...
That is why I picked summer as well. Also, it's when barbershop international takes place, and also the time of counting hours of Beatles jamming in Central Park.

I love spring and autumn. I was born in the spring (today, in fact). However, Halloween is in the autumn, and Halloween is my favourite holiday. So I voted for "Fall." I love the smell in the air when autumn is coming. I can just tell it's coming. I can't really describe the smell, but I can tell....Yay, seasons! :)
