okay, starting a spin-off thingy from the current poll about bedrooms... :) what posters/pictures do you have on your bedroom walls? and why? which is your favourite? discuss. :) Let's see, I have the poster which is also my icon here. I also have some antique woodcut prints of pastoral scenes of European farm workers above Latin descriptions of the harvest, etc. I have my Dean's List certificates (probably time for those to come down as it's been 13 years) and some old pictures of friends and family. Also a still life of a table with a teacup and some blue flowers in a vase. As for a favorite, well...it's probably the Maxfield Parrish poster tied with the still life. The focal point in my bedroom is giant oak wardrobe. It covers most of one wall.
Well...I have posters from all the plays I worked on in high school (plus some from Midd....but I keep forgetting to collect them, so I'm missing 4 shows...), a couple pictures of family/friends and such, but the selection there is limited because I suck at remembering to take pictures and at remembering to get them developped...my Magnetic Poetry calendar....and other random stuff.
oh this is fun!! I have not gotten much of my stuff up in my room, but what's up now: Autographed Fruvous picture from Wood, KROQ calendar (from a friend in L.A.), autographed Josh Clayton-Felt picture, autographed Jeff Goldblum picture (a present), Matthew Sweet picture, autographed BF5 drum head... open the door to the closet and there's a Down the Line poster and an Ashton Kutcher poster my roommate got for me as a gag gift. I do have lots of cool posters like Fruvous, a velvet Butthole Surfers poster, Gretzky, Hasek... just no room for them right now. Have an Andy Stochansky one that's gonna get framed, it's where he's holging his hands out and you can see his under-where ;) That one's definitely going up somewhere. hee! okay, here's what i've got (if i remember correctly - can't be arsed to get up and go look): -Moxy Fruvous Wood poster, surrounded with lots of liddle pics i printed off FDC; also have various flyers from shows/gigs and other liddle film posters i ripped out of magazines like the grinch and jurassic park 3. *dance* This one is above the computer and I just framed an Alphonse Mucha.

this would be way more interesting if it were a year ago and i were still in college. then, i'd have 2 REM posters, a ben folds five poster from unauthorized bio of reinhold messner (prob my fave), a huge poster from the movie magnolia (er, maybe *that* was my fave), a poster from the chihuly art exhibit at the dayton art institute in '02, a big printout of the thornhill promo shot (thanks, mom) and countless smaller posters/promo flats from the likes of guster, tori amos, XTC, belle & sebastian, jude, richard shindell, peter mulvey, dar williams, TMBG, BNL... yeah. but now that i'm back at home again, all i've got are framed items from high school (posters of plays i was in, a big framed copy of the cover art from all the weyrs of pern, and framed signed posters from BNL, GBS & fruvous) and some photos from college, in addition to some original art by local folks/friends of mine/my mom. :D

In a weird twist, I have no wall hangings at all in the bedroom. Not even a calendar or a dartboard (although the dartboard will probably be going up before long).
I have two framed posters of the St. Louis arch in the living room, and two framed music posters (Love and China and Sea of No Cares) in the den. A couple of other wall hangings in the house, but for the most part, it's pretty barren. The living room will liven up, once we get Zil to paint something for the living room's place of honor. I do have an fairly large collection of music and movie posters that I used to have on the walls years ago. Anyone interested? I'll part gladly with most of them. Teri will be happy about it too.

i have a 'san francisco' illustrated art print and a aluminum magnetic memo board in the shape of and painted like a cosmopolitain with 2 orange slice magnets and one cherry magnet that are 3-d.{my new room theme bacause of that is pink & silver} today at the flea market, i got 2 cute little placques that are pink/have pink on them that are very fun/retroish and one is a 'singapore sling' and the other is a 'bloody mary' one.
so....um.....i guess my bedroom's theme is pink, silver, and alcohol...heeeh! =) in the living room/hallway i do, however, have the last 3 EFO album promo posters framed. also in the hallway, i have a black & white james dean print{the one of him walking down a street with parked cars with his coat casually over his shoulder, a cigarette in his mouth and his camera around his neck} and over the couch in the living room is my FAVE print; a new york twilighty one with one of the bridges and the trade centers when they were there :(
Let's see....I've got posters for Stephen Fearing, Tom Wilson, The Supers, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings (signed by the boys and telling me they missed me - awwww....), some guy named Jian....various band stickers from Toronto musicians. I have a framed Grant Sainsbury print in b&w of a guy playing a sax and leaning on a vintage car, 3 Monet prints, a reproduction of the Wizard of Oz movie poster and a shelf full of unicorns. :)

I have two flags on one wall; one says "PACE" (peace in Italian) which my sister bought for me in Rome, the other is green with a black peace sign filled in with white. On the same wall I have a Honey Locust thorn, wallet-sized photos of both of my sisters, and my school schedule. On the far wall I have a few monkeys dangling from S-hooks, a print of Picasso's "The Old Guitarist", a print of Dali's "The Rose", an old record ("Tolkien Reads and Sings his 'The Hobbit' and 'The Fellowship of the Ring'"), and a small poster full of colorful frogs. The wall behind me used to have a black and white sketch of a chimpanzee that my sister's friend made for me, but it fell down. Now my side of that wall is blank. The rest of the wall space in my room belongs to the roomie.

Oh, how I long for my college days, when my walls would have been covered with Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds, and the like. I used to have an awesome Miles Davis poster, but now I'm old and married, so my walls need to be covered with pictures of flowers. At least that's what my wife tells me.

in the bedroom, we have one signed andrew bird poster. that's it.
in the rest of the house, we have a few chicago-related posters, a signed fruvous poster, a collection of a few posters framed together (i think it's sam shaber, rod picott, dar williams, and the kennedys), various framed photos, and another signed andrew bird poster. at work, i have a dvn poster and a buffy poster, some art from megan, and assorted photos, promo postcards, and other silliness.

I think white walls are unbearably boring, so I have covered mine all up. I figure I can look at white walls, or a pretty picture, so why not look at the picture.
I have a big wooden headboard, a rainbow-sunburst-tie-dye sheet, a map of the world, and because I am cheap: old calendar pictures, like a border near the ceiling. The rest of the house isn't mine, but Jeremy's room walls are mostly covered too.

Downstairs my house is mostly ugly student crossing and roadsigns posters but also my slobbie ozzie's guide to detox in the kitchen in the hope of inspiring people to use the recycling bin out back. My room has a Chat Noir poster. a Monet print in a frame, a picture of the song "Big Rock Candy mountian" by Carl Slater (google him, he's good) and assorted photos of friends and tickets from gigs and club nights with the "Ugly Duckling" ticket signed. The walls areyellow but next year they will be lilacand the posters will be of old tv shows as I have different house mates then. Sorry for the essay thank you for reading.

Since I just moved it, my walls are slowly being decorated. A few minutes ago, I hung my CuteRatCalendar(tm), and last night I hung my new posterlet on the outside of my door. it's a kitten hiding in a newspaper and it says, "Leave me alone! I'm having a crisis."
Have any of you discovered the majesty and wonderment that is Scotch Mounting Squares? *faints* Miracle substance.

http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/IMA/r135.jpg we have this "please wait to be seated" sign someone rescued from kueken dutch and my dad wants to pop it in there aswell i also think it'd be fun to put one of those signs that say "john's room" or "Loo's room" or "Lloyed Dobler's office" [watch Say Anything if you don't get it] on the door.
