I'm obsessing over maybe moving to ohio. the thing is... if not for talcott and some other people I think are way awesome (aka the good lacy, the woodwards andzack ect...) I wouldn't be thinking of it. I mean I likeohio well enough but I'm not like: "YAY OHIO!!!" what do you guys think?
obviously I like this idea.
Still, I'd be a bit hesitant to suggest it if I were the only thing you liked about the area. But you have lots of friends out here, and you seemed to like the area well enough. Do what makes you happy. *nods*
(and, obviously, that would make me happy ;-)
Besides, I think most frheads wind up living in North-West Ohio at some point ;-)

doing you makes me happy. ;-) I mean... riiiight. ;-)
Count me among the select few. As much as I love Ohio, I've never thought of living there and seriously hope I don't have to move there. I think it would lose a lot of its magic by becoming everyday. This, of course, doesn't apply to everyone. I don't think everyone would see Ohio in the same light as I.

I actually meant this more as a general question... I realized that it seems to be all about me but actually I was rying to get a feel for how other people felt about people moving for people(s)... I'm going to keep feeling the need to clearfy. *sigh*
i did it myself...it'll be a year next monday and it just keeps getting better. :)

when i talk to my mum about it I'm going to mention you as proof (as well as bruce&teri)
yay! let me know if there's any way i can help.
You're in Maine, right? Ohio sounds a little better than Maine. Columbus is pretty cool. This definitely seems related to the other thread on the best place to live (which is the SF bay area, BTW).

I think moving somewhere for someone is a good idea, but, the important factor is: do you see a life/future for yourself in that town if things don't work out with the person you're going to be with? If you do, then do it, honey, and be happy. :)
my thoughts exactly. furthermore, maybe you should try to see the peopleses factor as an added bonus instead of an incentive. it might help put things into perspective. and that, friends, is emilie's bollocks forum post of the week. do carry on.

Good idea: Drying your hair with a blow dryer. Bad idea: Drying your hair with a blow torch. *stick figure runs around like mad with hair on fire* Hee hee...remember those. That's what I thought this thread was about. Seriously though, I don't know if I'd move somewhere for someone or not. My boyfriend is in Toronto and that's where I'm from and where I want to live after I graduate anyway, so the decision is easy for me. I actually wasn't considering dating anyone from my school just because they likely wouldn't be from Toronto and I wouldn't move anywhere else for a guy. But then if your boyfriend/girlfriend is in a place where you'd like to move and could see yourself living there anyway, aside from the person being there, I'd say go for it. If it works out, that's awesome. If not, you will still enjoy living there and you can always move back or move somewhere else too if that's what you decide to do later on.
hee! that's what i thought. 'it's time for another good idea/bad idea. good idea - whistling while you work. bad idea - whistling while you eat.' :D (that's the only one of those i ever remembered. dude, i haven't seen animaniacs in yeeeears.)
.oO It's the Mr. Skullhead show. Staring him, Mr. Skullhead. This is the show that he has Mr. Skullhead! Oo.
I wish they'd put out all of those early 90s WB cartoons on DVD. At least Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid and Tiny Toons (in that order)
WORD. i've been saying that for years. those cartoons were don, i tell thee.
Freakazoid was the greatest!
Even with our example cited as a success story, I'd advise against it in most cases. For most people, moving requires cutting ties to people and places that are comfortable and safe. In your case, comfortable and safe don't really fit. Which brings the question: What do you have to lose? Specifically, for you I see a lot of advantages. You've founda rather large number of people who care about your health and welfare in the area. You don't seem to hate Ohio (and really, aside from Cleveland, what is there to hate?). They have Bob Evans. Selfishly, Ohio is much closer that Maine. That's been a fairly common theme in the replies. Weigh your options... I think we'll see you in Ohio. :-)

I moved to Minneapolis with a girl I only knew for a week. Even though it didn't work out, I don't regret it. I've gotten to live alot of different places and meet some interesting people. I had a someone ask me to move to Mexico City as well, but that was a little too big. I love moving to new places though and getting a fresh start. It feels like reinventing yourself. New people, new jobs, new surroundings. I say go for it. Life is short. Too short. Do all you can to be with the people you love.
