The only good horoscopes? The Onion of course, with your favorite retired machinist!

Definitely. Those are the only ones I ever read...and yeah, they always have some way of applying to my life. ;)

horoscopes are sooooo just made up. i've found that if you read all of them, they all apply to you in some way or another. heh.

They are just like Tarot readings. The information given is so completely general that it could have meaning to a wide range of people and situations.

Yes, they are like Tarot readings - they need to be done and interpreted my someone who knows what they are doing. If you are talking about the generic ones in your local newspaper I would say no to this poll. If you are talking about an astrological chart that has been put together by a professional who takes into account your birth as accurately as possible and the positions of all of the stars and planets, then I would answer yes to this.

Astrology, like Tarot, is not some sort of instruction book. It is a guide - a tool only. The forces at work in the universe naturally have an effect on us and the world that surrounds us.

"The forces at work in the universe naturally have an effect on us and the world that surrounds us."

Exactly what forces are those? Beyond gravitational and cosmic radition of course.

Astrology is for all those people who hate their lives and want to blame it on someone or something else. In this case, the stars. I am one of those people. Well, not so much anymore, but I do enjoy looking through astrology books, sometimes they're pretty accurate.

For the most part they are just fun. It's interesting to see how well things match, and how well things don't. I have problems right away (somehow I'm supposed to be a Leo. I have the hair, and that's about it), but there are some people who match their sign quite well.

But who knows? Weirder things have proven true. While I don't tend to believe in it at all, I could see some argument made about the placement of everything having some infulence on a child's personality (sort of like the butterfly --> storm in New York thing, but with gravity and brain formation), but even if that were true, I don't think it can be used to predict day-to-day things.

I've always read them, but never really followed them. I've noticed that in my reading through that (as mentioned before) they all apply to me. My sign is Libra, and fits better than most. However, I've always thought that Scorpio was a more personally appropriate sign.

Mom always said I was born early... and my actual due date would have been solid Scorpio. What are the odds???

Mars is bright tonight. Unusually bright.
