So, just because *I* had a better falcon ridge than any prior... as did others I talked to... I'm curious to know if this is the across-the-board feeling.

*giggle* Long live Mayor Puddles!

I saw more music than I had in recent years. I burned less. Tent didn't leak this year. missed some folks like Sara. :( Had to be a cheapskate and ration the bought meals. Never made it to the dome. Saw happy redbird and susie. Had some angst. Got lots of love.

Hard to tell. :) I had a great time for the most part. But I can't compare it to other years on a 1 to 1 basis.

We all get better at managing it each year because of practice and learned lessons...that helps.

I'm already planning on going next year. Totally awesome experience.

I just found it better this year. I just felt really more comfortable and relaxed than in previous years. Perhaps it could be the fact there were several strange crazy people who were yelling my name from afar. :)

...but it was much better than I was expecting, and I was expecting something pretty awsome :-)

I can't even tell you all how glad I am that I was able to make it there this year.

I'm ready to buy my ticket for 06 as soon as they go on sale.

Shelly · 19 years, 8 months ago

i thought it was the best year yet for many reasons, mainly because of old friends, wonderful new friends, and just lotsa fun that we had.

highlight was definitely our 4 hour sing-a-long with mike, robbie & friends at our camp{well...in the road} on saturday night/sunday morning. and i even made it up the hill -twice- this year!!!! {though not to the dome}

the only dampers for me were:

a} the fact that eddie couldn't be there. he was always on my mind & in my thoughts and i cried lots.

b} the fact that we'll be somewhere else next year and have to find our way again... and how beautiful the farm is

c} the death of the estrogen tent during friday's storm, rendering me tentless, so thank God for meg & jer & there GINORMOUS tent that slept 6 of us for 2 nights. and i even have people making me -think- about doing philly folk now, too. which. i usually rebel against. and i'd need to get a tent.

but. we'll see. =)

dgodwin Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
Why didn't eddie make it to the show? I guess I missed it if it was posted on the edhead list (I swear I'm not getting every message.)
Songbill Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
They said it was a family emergency.
*joolee* Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
OMG if you do Philly, SJ and I are SO in. :) Just the reason I need to flee my previous campsite. *squeak*
Shelly Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

if i do, i won't be able to do pre-fest, just regular. do you know where 'the front porch' usually is there? coz i'd probably wanna camp with them coz a buncha them are friends of mine. well...and the fort fluffy people.

and, of course, i'll need a new tent. ;)

*joolee* Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

There are tons of camps there, most of which I don't really know, so I'd be no help, unfortunately.. I know John and I are hitting it up Thursday morning to set up our owncamp.

I shall have a short moment of silence for your poor tent. May the next weather many storms.

Shelly Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

i'm sure i can get in touch with one of them and see where they camp/etc. the new tent thing is my major issue now coz i don't know if i have the $$$$ to get one like i'll want, ya know?

vee shall see.

but i'll DEFinitely letcha know!! i -do- know that i hafta work til 8pm on friday night, so i wouldn't get there til late. but i have to take a diffeent day off that week, so i could probably take thursday. i still hafta figure stuff out coz the lobbies are at mom's now{and i'd prolly bring one if any}

Andrea Krause Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

Ours was $74 on sale at Walmart! :)

John J. Ryan Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
I HATE Wal-Mart to go and buy things, but for camping supplies, I can bare it. I'll probably end up at Target though.
Andrea Krause Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
I was so disappointed when we stopped this year at Target for our camping stuff. They used to have a bigger section...we got a lot of our best old stuff there. But there was barely anything to be had this year. Very sad. :(
goovie is married! Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
bare it, baby!

(sorry. homonyms are fun.)
Shelly Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

i *heart* your tent, though!!!! the screen without the drainage issues...and the stand-up-in-it ability..PLUS i like the star-gazing feature & such.

will hafta investigate!!!

*joolee* Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
omg, so john just interviewed some random folk gal..lisabeth, and she invited him to stop by her tent at, *laugh*, THE FRONT PORCH. Small world!
Shelly Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

that's lisabeth weber!! she's cool & she & maggie did a mainstage something this yr.{was it most requested song swap??} she also makes cool pins & stuff and sells them at fests as a vendor even if she isn't playing them.

she camps at the front porch every year.

they're all good people up there and their song circle i went to on sunday night was amazing and fun. they're a good bunch, talented musicians all and it was just a fun atmosphere. {yes, even adam brodsky was tame and sang a neat not-usual-adam-material' song.

hard to believe i never made it up there between 200 & -this- year...heh.

but y'all know that we flatlanders don't do hills. ;)

goovie is married! Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
lisabeth rocks my world. very talented musically and artistically, very sweet--she's even ok with it when a random girl observing the song swap starts harmonizing with her on patty griffin songs, not that i know from experience or anything. :P she and maggie were in the most wanted swap this year. finally.
*joolee* Back · 19 years, 8 months ago
Oh yeah, another philly thing, the majority of the camping is on a hill...not like, on top, but on the side of a hill. :)
Andrea Krause Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

so is Camp Dar a training ground for philly? :)

*joolee* Back · 19 years, 8 months ago

heh, definitely! :)

My friend's camp, they bring this wooden deck that has adjustable legs that can make a flat surface on a hill. It's awesome.

100% dainty! · 19 years, 8 months ago
Chakra-aligning!!!! I have only done FRFF 3 times so I'm still in the honeymoon period, but I NEVER have any complaints (not more than tiny ones at least). Like, I don't care about the lack of turnover or logistics or whatever. something about that place just makes my soul happy. I loved it. It made my weekend. my summer.
Mur_Maid · 19 years, 8 months ago
Life changing. The buzz STILL hasnt worn off.
