No Pete Best option? Or is Pete Best not poultry?
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Pete Best, the other white meat.
Nik Chaikin · 18 years, 11 months ago
Hard to choose between turkey and duck but i had to go duck. Never had goose, just it's liver *drool*
Andrea Krause · 18 years, 11 months ago
I've only ever had chicken and turkey...no real drive to try the others...I like chicken best. I'm pedestrian. :)

sheryls · 18 years, 11 months ago
i went with chicken. although one i've had that's not on the list is Pheasant. not my favorite.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
Is Pheasant poultry? It is a game bird. Perhaps it is both? I don't really know.
sheryls · 18 years, 11 months ago

I checked on dictionary.com

poultry n. :Domestic fowls, such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, or geese, raised for meat or eggs.

So game birds are distinct.
sheryls Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
so, what if i raised pheasants for meat? :D
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
That doesn't make it domesticated. Another dictionary says that poultry is specifically the birds I mentioned. This is a distinction that goes back to the French and came to English with the Normans.
meh Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
So depending on which dictionary you're using, duck and goose can sometimes not-be poultry, then?

*decides this poll topic is suddenly way too confusing, and is somehow glad she went with chicken, despite really loving duck and goose*

*plays duck-duck-goose with the haul of stuff she's moving tonight*

*realizes what time it is*
*should NOT have gotten back online before hauling stuff up to Sandusky*
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
No, all the polls I mentioned are always considered poultry. The only question is, is anything else poultry.
Will work for anime · 18 years, 11 months ago
i *heart* duck..i just wish it wasn't so greesy.
sheryls · 18 years, 11 months ago
This poll is just fowl. What sort of quack thought this up?
danced with Lazlo · 18 years, 11 months ago
Having had all of the above, I have to say duck is hands-down the tastiest.
J. Andrew World · 18 years, 11 months ago
I am with my daughter:
"Chic-Ken chic-Ken, mmm, mmm, mmm"

Ironically we were eating turkey when she sang that song.
lawrence · 18 years, 11 months ago
I find it amusing that the poll specifies 'to eat'. I wonder what everyone's favourite poultry to have as a pet is.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
I didn't want Ben Franklin to vote for the turkey because he thought it was a noble bird.
Andrea Krause · 18 years, 11 months ago
What about a geoduck?? :)

(Grossest. Bivalve. Ever.)
meh Back · 18 years, 11 months ago
