Did anyone else immediately think of the Python "Cheese Shop" skit?

my current fave is wensleydale with cranberries.
i like goat cheese, sheep cheese, cow cheese ... i'd probably like camel cheese, but i've never had it. it's funny, because i absolutely loathed cheese in any form when i was a child. and now i'll eat almost any sort, including pungent bleus. i'm not fond of the rinds on brie and such, however. i've been told this makes me a philistine.

> had it. That's because you can't make cheese from camel milk. No, really. It's too acidic. It's even reflected in Jewish law... Camel is not kosher. While they chew their cud, camels don't have split hooves. They have, well, camel-toes. Therefore, camel milk is not kosher. When purchasing milk, one must ask whether it is camel milk, lest one unwittingly purchase unkosher milk. However, when purchasing cheese, there is no need to ask whether it is camel cheese, as there is no such thing. (I learned this all in a lecture about how camel milk would be the eventual solution to famine in sub-saharan Africa. They gave out samples of camel ice cream. Apparently that exists. I'm not sure whether it's scarier that the lecturer was so excited about camel milk, or that I remember so much about the subject.)
An added obnoxious pedent note.
The one big difference between Jewish and Muslim dietary laws is that camels are allowed in islamic law. This is a practical neccessity since when a caravan gets caught in the desert the camels are often the only available food.
I don't tend to like it sharp but I at least find that as I age I tolerate it further along the spectrum. Maybe when I'm a granny I'll be with y'all. :)
yes! I always buy ultra sharp cheddar when it's on sale and it's so good!

I prefer digital cheese, which may be found in the ancient arcade game Primal Rage. Digital Cheese is processed by doing the same thing over and over, be it one move, or a series of moves. Cheesing hurts, ladies and gentlemen. It hurts a lot like getting bit by a poodle, regardless of how cute they are, what with their tiny black poodle lips. Cheese can also be found in any other fighting game, but stricly as a spoken term. Primal Rage seems to be the only game featuring an on-screen display of one's obvious lack of hand-to-eye talent. Did I mention poodles have tiny black poodle lips? Also, Cheese Cloth. I used to eat that, but then I stopped. I hear you aren't supposed to. Add that to the list of things I am not supposed to do, yet I do anyways. Poodle lips, anyone?

I love so many different types of cheeses! Give me some good sharp cheddar, brie, edam, gouda, muenster, provolone, asiago, pepper jack, etc., etc., the list goes on and I'm a happy person.
Though I did vote for mozarella. For me, nothing beats having fresh slices on mozarella on sandwiches.
now see, if you put that on some lightly toasted italian bread rubbed with a garlic clove, that's what i call bruschetta. it doesn't have to be any more complicated than that.
(technically you don't even need the mozz in my book, but, hi. the thread is about cheese. :D ) on a completely different topic, not sure if we ever adequately thanked you for the coffee donation at frff. good stuff. i was surprised at how much i *liked* the blueberry -- i wasn't sure about it at first, but it was nice and light. *pours you the first cup next year* mmm garlic bruschetta, last nite I had eggplant sauteed in olive oil with onions, garlic and jalapeno pepper-is that overkill??(jalapeno peppers are not that spicy if you take the seeds out.) Thanks! I was happy to make a small contribution to the budgie dome. Glad you enjoyed it. Though it was my first real visit to the budgiedome everyone was very nice andmade me feel quite welcome.
