The billboards for the new Hummer call it an SUT. What does SUT stand for?
Could stand for So Unbearably Tacky or even..... Sucky Ugly Truck I'm so creative !
Do you drive around in one? I always say that if you aren't invading Iraq you don't need a humvee.
I think it's Sport Utility Truck. My aunt drives an H2. *shame* but she hates it. it's for her business. it's covered in advertisments for her store. she says when she's driving, the stupid thing is so big that she can't adjust the rearview mirror - she can't reach it.
I figured that was what it really meant but the other explanations are so much more accurate.

Sport Utility Truck. That means anything that claims to be a Sport Ute (as opposed to a real truck) but which has a tiny pickup bed so you can haul shit you can't (or wouldn't want to fit inside an SUV).
Examples include Ford Explorer SportTrac, Lincoln Blackwood, Chevy Avalanche, Cadillac EXT, Hummer H2 SUT, Subaru Baja, and Honda's new Ridgeline, which I think is the most kick-ass of all of them. Can you believe I deal with this kind of shit for a living? I personally love that you put Lincoln, Cadillac, Hummer, and Subaru into the same class. This is the new description for the El Camino/Ranchero/Ram Charger/Brat class, right?
Not really. The Baja is car based, so it is basically a modern Brat, yes, but all the others I mentioned are truck-based. Sport Trac is on the Explorer platform, Blackwood is on the Expedition/Navigator platform, Avalanche and EXT are on the Yukon/Suburban platform, I think, and so is Hummer H2 AFAIK. Ridgeline is new and comes in the wake of the concept Honda showed last year called the Sport Utility Truck. I believe this is their first truck in North America.
