Portland OR - Seattle WA -- ?

Discussion: Portland OR - Seattle WA -- ?

Okay, I'm trying to convince my driving partner that we should make another trip West for a nice vacation. My sister and nephew live in Portland, which gives us a convenient crashingspace. I've been promising myself that I'll see the St. Helen's tourist stuff. (I saw it erupt from my family's porch...)

What other, not-so-touristy, but entirely-too-cool-to-miss things can you suggest? :)

Multnomah Falls, and pretty much as much of the rest of the Columbia River Gorge as possible.

I was there a year or so ago, and ever since I've been trying to figure out if a move up that way is feasible.

Portland native here...always happy to answer these types of questions.

First, when would you be visiting? Second, what types of activities do you guys enjoy? Feel free to message me as well...

I think we are looking at either late spring or early summer. I want to drive it - he thinks we should fly. Either way, we'll have use of a car.

*grin*

Seattle via Portland...Maine. :)

You know, if I had the time, money and the CAR....I'd do it. :) Of course, if you could get out here AND we actually decide to DRIVE it AND you can stand 2000 miles in a car with us crazy drivers....heck, why not? I'm sure we could go on another "three hour tour" in search of a Target. (It's tradition. We ALWAYS get lost for about 2 hours looking for a Target in some random US city.)

It would have been 45 minutes last time (in Ogden, UT), except for the traffic and the snow.
