Hey, guys, what are you being for Halloween? My costume will be excellent. I have this UGLY (so ugly, it's awesome) dress suit from the 1950s... my mom bought it in a vintage shop when she was my age in the 70's, and that inspired me. It's a bubblegum pink, and lime green, and white checkerboard-ish dress with a matching jacket. I bought a white pillbox hat over the internet, and I'm buying white gloves and white pumps and I'm going to be a flight attendant from the 50's. How much does that rule?
So what's your deal? What are you guys being? I'll totally post pictures when I get them.
Heh.
I'll choose option C.
I haven't dressed up for halloween since I was 13, you insensitive clod.
Thirteen was my last year for trick-or-treating, but I still dress on occasion. I think my last costume was Riff-Raff, the handyman (as opposed to Riff-Raff, the spaceman in the Gary Glitter costume). Working retail has a way of souring you on the holidays (all of them). I was supposed to set Halloween product in August. As for this year, I'm not sure about a costume. Teri's had some ideas, but I've forgotten them. They were mostly designed to make other people laugh at me, which has never been a problem in the past. :-)
Yup. There were some good ideas. I've forgotten them too. :/ You could go as a punk (dye the tips of your hair blue). Huh. That's all I can think of right now. (Too early to work!!)
We have a cosutme contest every year (with cash prizes)at my work...i've sworn to win first prize this year. I'm going as George, my cat....my costume is similar to the cats from Cats (complete with face make up) but alot fuzzier. My patients should be amused at least ;-)

My roommates bought me a halloween costume. *sigh* I'm so not a sexy person, and they bought me a pirate/maid costume. I still haven't seen it, but the way it sounded left me with the *chest out, wiggly butt "ARRR! I'll swab your deck!" feeling.
I've dressed up for every Hallowe'en since I could walk! It's my favourite of all the overly commercialized pseudo-holidays. ;)
I haven't totally narrowed down the costume yet. I've got this gorgeous handmade gothic dress that I bought in Stratford (home of the Shakespeare festival) and thinking either vampiress, witch (a stretch for me I know *g*) or gothic queen. Opinions?

I've got a promo pic in my bio from Pirates of the Caribbean. In a nice twist I'll be Elizabeth and my boyfriend will be Capt Jack (not complaining about Orlando, mind you, but Mr. Depp is on my laminated list!) I've bought the fabric and shall be sewing night and day for the next month. I'll post pictures as I go. Alos in bio...pics from 200) of our Harry Potter costumes. It was before the movie, mind you so I was just going off my imagination. And his invisibility cloak...you could really see through (even if it didn't make him invisible).
my housemate hatesdressing up but seems we all ahve to and join ion the bu=ig student tradition of getting wasted and snogging (making out) with strangers which appeals very little so my plan is to go as a fairy with the glitter candy wand emily got me and refuse all offers of alcoholic beverages as i just wantto have a good time and not have strangers try and undo my bra...why theythink this will make me like them is beyond me! So fairy not witch or gobklin or anything but fairy cos I am cute like a fairy.....unfortunately I have no pictures so you must trust me on this one!
If Lori or Gella go as Hedwig then I'll go as Bob.
Ooh, I iwant Lori to be Hedwig and I can be Yitzchak
/me hasn't seen Hedwig.
yes, that means:
/me is a cultural illiterate.
But whatever. You two get here early and dress me. Hee!
No you rent Hedwig this week. You need to see it!!!!!!!!!
OK I posted to this thread, how did I forget it existed?

I've been planning to be Lee Holloway from Secretary for like the last 4 months at least. But if I wasn't planning that, I'd probably get a red sweater and a hockey helmet and go as the vicar (see: Friends).
I seem to enjoy the look on confusion on people's faces when they realize they have no idea if I'm even dressed up.
i was thinking of going literary and being Hester Prynne, seeing as I've been feeling rather pariah-like lately. or getting one of those "no face" masks and a cloak and a long pole and going as the Ferry Man of the river Styx. (i'd steal a skateboard and shuttle myself around the room for effect) or wear my vicars n tarts costume and go as a dark angel (except, i don't know if my corset will still fit now that i'm losing weight).
Boo as in bummer, not boo, I'm a ghost. I have contemplated going as a Pentacostal: wear my (long) hair down with a denim skirt, sweatshirt and a pair of sneakers. *sigh* I imagine the bank wouldn't appreciate it.

I work in a public library and *yay* we are allowed to dress up. I love it. Last year I came as the Sorceror's Apprentice from Fantasia complete with red robe and pointed blue hat. This year I'm making a Care Bear costume. For some reason they don't make them for adults; only children. Hmm.So I bought some blue footed pajamas and will be making a white tummy with a blue moon and a gold star out of felt (Bedtime Bear). The only serious sewing I'm going to have to do will be the head piece, but I think I'll be ok if I can get hold of a pattern for it.
