i was going to do something constructive today, but then decided to check my mail... and so far i've been on the internet all afternoon, messing about on here and lj and stuff. hee :D
dude I LOVE cleaning. and I'm pretty much a "hire a bitch for a buck" cause my friends are always like, "I'll give you 10 dollars if you clean..." "will you do my laundry for 5 bucks?" and I'm always like YES because 1. I'm poor. and 2. the mess was bothering me anyway. ofcourse this need for clean jumps out the window when it come to my bedroom.

Nothing like a good pointless poll to bring out the non sequiturs. :)
"Mom, you will never have grandchildren because I do not wish to have children of my own. Kids are cool, so long as they belong to other parents. Thank you, please drive through." :D -= george =- yeah but if you do that, you're feeding her need for drama. and there is to be no drama. you end the discussion there. on another note, is that the shadow of anakin skywalker you're casting in that icon? -= george =-
Hm...two Star Wars references in one day....maybe you should see those movies, Anni. :)
anakin skywalker is a kind of high-intensity sand-blasting tool used in wood and glass shops. i suppose i'm not too terribly surprised that you didn't know what one was. :D -= george =-
Whadaya mean eating people's wrong!?! Next thing, you'll say killing people's wrong!!!
Not necessarily. If you kill and eat a healthy person, then you're eating "healthy" things.
dirty life & times

i thought it was kinda cheating to go & freely add my own (though there was that option), & i'm not even looking for a job, & i eat healthy enough, & i really only do a certain amount of things online before i get bored.... my opinions on the war are a lot like other peoples'.
my life's very good actually. but i don't look it. that's the hardest.
yeah yeah.. thanks for posting people, even though I didn't logon during the poll period. oh well. :)

i can pretend to be nice, or happy. i can fake being a good student or daughter. but i don't think i will EVER EVER be thin again. it's like, once you lose it..man...it's gone....
I feel the same way. I go back and forth with the weight thing. I don't think I'll ever be one size for the rest of my life, or even a couple years for that matter. I don't expect to ever be thin again. Right now I'm focusing on not being super muscley.. damn German genes! lol, I'm not talking about like body builder muscley, but like.. clearly muscley. Not that there's anything wrong with being muscley, it's just not something that I view as attractive for myself. i may get flack for this, but sometimes gaining weight can be just as hard as losing it. i do understand that losing is just as hard, if not harder than gaining. i struggle to eat enough calories in a day to at least maintain my current weight. i'd love to manage to somehow gain ten pounds so i wouldn't have to worry about it so much if i came up a little short one day. does anyone know of any resources on how to gain, without eating tons of junk food? why is it that people will comment on how thin a person is, without any evident awareness of the humiliation that that can cause? anybody have ideas on tactful responses? i'm sure they believe that they are complimenting, but it is discouraging to be reminded in public of my failure to gain weight. thoughts? do i just need to quit whining and be grateful? healthful eating is definitely my biggest struggle of the list...
Hrm...if they're just pointing out you're too thin and not knowing the context, say something like "I isn't my decision to be underweight." and if they're complimenting you on being so thin, maybe "I'd actually prefer to gain some weight and feel healthy".
I dunno I'm awful at tact and stuff so I just avoid everything. :)
Yeah, I'm not sure about the response either... it really comes down to whatever makes you comfortable.
Most people tend to get hints.
I had a lot of problems for a while with people asking about the scars on my arm. After a while, I found that usually just saying, "they're from being a stupid teenager." ended the conversation.... only those people who were very clueless continued the inquiry.
Heh, yeah that's roughly the same as my answer when I'm asked about my scars. :)
my father is the same way, he has been skinny his whole life & many people give him problems about it.
on the advice of his doctor, he took up weightlifting in order to *gain* weight. he is still underweight, but he's healthier than most middle-aged guys out there.

how about the paper you've known about all term but waited until the last week of classes to do?
or how about both the papers you've known about all term but waited until the last week of classes to do? not that i'm speaking from personal experience or anything. i just know kids in my classes that are in this boat. yeah. other people. not me. *nods* lisa (:
In one of my classes we can either do a demonstration in front of the class or on video (it's for Spanish). It's due April 29. My professor was saying she's had some before that say "April 29, 2:09 am" in the bottom corner.
I've definately done the slacking before. I'm all too familiar with it. In fact I should get started on my linguistics paper this week. :-)

One thing that I've been dreading, this month, was telling my sister I couldn't send her any money, as I'm moving, and moving costs a bit. I ended up telling her I'd send her $50 instead of the usual hundred. That way I don't feel like such a bad sister. Another thing that goes with that, is saying to myself "Hey, by the way, I don't actually make that much, and between trying to buy my younger brothers things that they can't live without *in their eyes* and paying rent, buying groceries, paying for my prozac, and sending my sister money, you are broke. What 2 things can you extract from this list......"
