Oooh my aching head!

So here's the thing, as most of you know I'm a raging alcoholic. HA! No I'm not really, but I like to drink, and when I do I always drink too much. So my question is, what is your hang-over drug/food/drink of choice?
I've always woken up, drank a liter of water, taken a couple midol, and than either had a breakfast of pumpkin pie, or stale cheetos. I don't know why the pumpkin pie works for me, but it seems to ease my jumpy tummy, and stale cheetos, well... I think I just like to eat cheetos when I'm drinking then I leave them sitting open, and I notice them the next morning when I'm trying to think of something that I can eat that wont make me vomit.

Well aren't you special, bleh bleh bleh. I'm kidding, I love you. umm, so yeah, I used to not drink, before I turned 13, so 13 years of no drinking! I guess I was just a bad kid. lol. I should quit drinking, I'm such a dumb-ass when I drink. I was just reading the archived power wall from last night, lol, yes I should quit drinking. Or drinking so much... or not..

I find more and more that I have other priorities for money than booze so I tend to be more in Chrissie's camp. But if you're offering, well yes please, thank-you very much. I have found that drinking lots of water before the end of the night prevents some of the pain which apparently stems from dehydration. As well, something to slow down the absorbtion of alchohol into your system, protein or complex carbs, would be a good idea. So the raw egg would be better before or during the drinking rather than the next day. YMMV.
actually, water is the best idea, period. If you think to drink water on a 1:1 system, you can almost always wind up just slightly groogy at worst (at least that's how it's been for me)
Granted, I don't find myself all-out-drunk that often, but in those cases water=good.
I've found the worse part of a hangover is not necessarily the alcohol that was in my system, but the water it takes out. If I don't drink alot of water before going to bed, then I get severe dehydration and headaches. So, I think water is the biggest key to avoiding hangovers.
As for food to settle a pissed off stomach, I usually choose something very bland like toast or plain cereal. Now, if someone has a cure for the beer shiiites, that'd I'd be interesting in hearing! :)

" Marge, you got a butt that just won't quit...... they've got these pretzles that are......five dollars! I said get outta here...ya big..bologneeeey..mmmmmmmmmmbeeer."
*thunk*
heh, I find it can also be what you drink (and if you mix your drinks) I'm all happy and fine if I stick to 4 coolers (or so) but as soon as I get greedy and drink one beer, or one glass of wine...it's headache city!
also, on the mixing thing...stay away from everything else if you are drinking somthing spicy..and be near a toilet..it'll stain anything!
TMI?
heh
The two times I was dumb and didn't follow my own advice (and didn't drink water) I was hurtin...and in CLASS! I nabbed some cafeteria crackers and a watter of bottle, and was fine after I threw up a few times!
~J~
i second that. :P though it's mostly because i know that i wouldn't be able to handle the hangovers... :D

The water thing I'd heard before, I tried that, but water tastes like ass after you've been drinking. So I don't drink water much while drinking.
warm water does, but cold water is always good.
(at least for me)
Three words for dealing with water:
Chug. Chug. Chug.

Water? No wonder I've been getting bad hang-overs, I thought the chug chug chug was meant for the alcohol. :^P

um... I know its meant for youngsters and all, but I always have something like pedialite around to chug after drinking... keeps me hydrated better than water.
not that I ever drink ;-) I'm a good girl I am.
Bad place to ask... so many damned non-drinkers.
:D
Depends on the symptom.... if you're feeling queasy, Bonine is the way to go. It's a chewable anti-seasickness pill.. and it works all day once it kicks in.
As others have said... water water water!
And, if you forgot to do that, and it's morning, gatorade gatorade gatorade.
For my money, the best food to eat the next morning is ALWAYS something heavy and greasy.... we always go to a diner and eat homefries and eggs and toast or some corned beef hash, but that wouldn't work for you, of course... so, something absorbent. :)
What else..... oh... and during the course of the day, carbonation helps as well..... soda or something like orangina.
It's all about getting those fluids back in.
Oh yeah.... my sister's rule that she taught me when I was a teenager was "Two asprin and two glasses of water before bed."
I modified it to two advil and as much water as I can drink.
:)
But same theory.
see, I just do the "as much water as I can drink" thing, and it's never set me wrong. The worst I've had has been a kinda dream-state the next morning. That was over once I had fresh air and lunch (well, brunch) though...
Then again, while I was definitly a bit less-than-sober, I still had a long way more that I could have gone, so that's probably not a cure-all either)
yeah, if you REALLY overdo it, water just ain't gonna be the answer.
:)
I'm all about Gatorade - actully, I often drink it on the *way* to the party/bar/whatever, and get a head start.

I rarely "over do it" I think I've done that maybe 40 or 50 times in my life, it sounds like a lot, but you've got to think about how long I've been alive.

Oops, I guess I admited to always drinking too much in my first post. lol. never mind the last post than.
Just make sure not to mix Acetaminophen and alcohol....
Yes, that is ALL bad.
Ibuprofin/asprin are fine, though.

I love you guys! No I'm not drunk. Where else can you find people who will give you tips on making the day after more enjoyable. Or at least tolerable.

Yes, so I guess it was tolerable before, because I'm still here, and I wouldn't be if it weren't tolerable.
