I definitely have my favorite shows on each, and others...
But in the end I picked TLC because I'm so addicted to Trading Spaces and I adore Junkyard Wars. And Full Metal Challenge. And While You Were Out. I lovelovelove Alton Brown on the foody channel though. Total crush. And he has flames on his mixer. And a Magritte-inspired chicken painting. How can I not love him?

Sorry, but for the race fan, it's gotta be SPEED Channel. :) Gotta love "if there's a car on the track, we'll show it to you" coverage of Daytona Speedweeks :)
Which reminds me, I need to reset the cable box to tape qualifying while I'm at work. Laters all! -- Pauley

There are probably some channels I'd love if I had them. When I used to have BBC America I liked it, as well as HBO. Don't have them right now. I don't think I have Noggin either.
The key places on my dial are: TNT, Discovery, USA, TLC, FoodTV, Comedy Central, MTV, Sci-Fi, Animal Planet, and VH1.
I'll second the noggin vote, although more for Pre-Elmo Sesame Street and other assorted PBS stuff.
That's what I want, an ber-PBS station. All the good stuff that's ever been on PBS (including BBC stuff). They have lots of cool stuff in their archives, they need to show it more often. I wonder why people always give me strange looks...

Where is it?!
What about Degrassi, Daria, Pete and Pete, Clarissa, Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact ...HUH? HUH?
...and olllllld episodes of square one that air from 3am-5am EST every weds morning. currently having mom tape 'em and send 'em to me. such a walk down memory lane... --k, not in it so much for the mathnet as for the music videos (angle dance! tessellation! the mathematics of love! rawk!!).
Have you seen their new commercial:
It shows a bunch of teens sighing heavily.... and then the announcer says in the end: ANGST SCHMANGST! :D

...'cause they keep canceling great shows like The Invisible Man and Farscape. SPACE, on the other hand, rocks. they have a great mix of the old and the new and enough cheezy movies to satisfy any one out there. SPACE all the way, baby!

I had to vote for "no cable" but I looove comedy. hea hea!!! But anyway people that live like 15 miles from me got to be on a Trading Places show or summat. Though I couldn't watch it CAUSE I DON"T HAVE CABLE...
But doesn't the canadian comedy network show Whose Line from the first couple of seasons?
comedy central doesn't do that here. They have the same shows from WL in rotation.
Buffy, Angel, Enterprise... that's my whole current list. But I voted for the Sci Fi channel because I love love loved Taken.
I can remember watching SatC before all the hype which had to be during season 1 and 2.
Everyone thought I was weird for watching the show and then BAM it's popular! Last season definitely sucked. :(

Where they show the complete versions of Laugh In along with concerts like BNL and Great Big Sea (intimate and interactive).
Yes! (re: uber pbs) One that only shows good BBC shows- absolutely no Last Of The Summer Wine permitted.
Ok- back to topic... I picked "other" because I couldn't choose. My cable channel picks are now: Food Network, VH1, Animal Planet, FX, Cartoon Network, and Comedy Central Sadly, I don't get either Noggin or BBCAmerica

I just designed a poster (because my roommate is moving and I'm looking for someone else to help with rent) saying "Can you live without cable?"
I miss a few things not having a TV (Absolutely Fabulous, Vicar of Dibley, Freaks & Geeks--but that's not on anymore anyway, The Simpsons), but I've learned to deal. I don't deal well with distractions--had to remove solitaire from my computer. Now Iget a lot more writing and reading done. 'Sides, my current job is a night job, so I'm not around for prime-time. It always makes me happy to choose the "insensitive clod" option. Woo hoo!
nope, no carmen, that i know of--but i did get to see a tape last week of one of my friends here on campus on the show back in the day. funny, funny stuff... that was quality kids tv programming. :D --k, who notes: danielle got all the way to the map--but it was of eastern europe right after the fall, and she had to find bosnia-herzegovena, slovakia and all *upside down*. poor kid. the darn map was only accurate for about a week before the boundaries shifted again, anyway.
rachel and anyone else who's interested: freaks and geeks may be coming out on dvd. *bounce* go to freaksandgeeks.com for more info.
and the 10 billion commercials they are known to show during one movie. ;)

The first channel I turn on when the tv gets turned on is always the Cartoon Network. I guess it's just the geek in me that wants to watch the same damn Looney Tunes over again or anime, or the adult swim. I guess I'm not in the know.

Once upon a time, I had cable. During that time, MTV played music (bad music, but it's what I listened to at the time), which tells how long ago this was. Since I've been without cable for years, I answered "insensitive dood." But I do enjoy catching bits of VH-1, Comedy Central, and The History Channel during my rare hotel stays. All I need to do now is find a place with M|2 or MuchMusic... then I'd be in TV heaven.
