The Ditty Bops are an impossibly cute duo who play 1920s-style music with a modern twist (and I do mean "twist"--the lyrics are often dark and offbeat, but with glimmers of hope). If you're a fan of singers like Erin McKeown or Jolie Holland, or bands like the Be Good Tanyas, Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, or even Squirrel Nut Zippers, you'll probably dig the Ditty Bops, too.
