Review of "Citizen Kane" |
Information:What's the movie's name? Citizen Kane What genre is this film?Classics Give a short summary of this movie:Rosebud Reviews:Citizen Kane: Orson Welles first film and masterpiece. Technically the most innovative film since Birth of a Nation. The writing, the direction, the cinematography are all peerless. Often considered the greatest American film ever. Im not going to argue. See this movie in a theater if you get the chance - it really is amazing on a big screen. Truly a masterpiece. Well. What to say, what to say. It's so weird to be writing a review of Citizen Kane. But... it's so very GOOD, how can anyone not rate it a ten? It was incredibly innovative in its techniques. But you know that. You've seen all the pictures of Orson Welles digging holes in floors to seat the camera in. Blah blah blah, right?
It was also incredibly innovative sound-wise. Blah blah again, right? So yeah. Watch it. Because even if you don't care a bit about sound preceding picture or whatever, it's an awesome story, and told in an always-interesting collection of interviews and snippets. One memorable moment for me is the story of the girl on the boat, which doesn't actually have anything to do with the plot, and I'm not sure why it stands out to me, but there you have it. Watch it. Love it. Even if you already know who/what/where Rosebud is because someone in a Mad About You rerun told you. To rate this, log in.
