Give a short summary of this movie:
My favorite Kevin Smith movie.

Reviews:

goovie is married!:

Kevin Smith is brilliant. Dogma makes you laugh and it makes you think -- it speaks to all of us who've had crises of faith. Plus it's got Alan Rickman and Lady Aberlin from "Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood" -- what more do you need?

Michael (foof) Maki:

This movie just gets better every time I see it.

Starfox:

This was good, but not as good as some of his other escapades. How long can you beat a horse is the question. Still, it ranks up there in terms of Kevin Smith movies, but below Clerks and Mallrats in MHO

A girl named Becca:

Both high and low comedy. Really intelligent theologic humor and theories, plus the Jay and Silent Bob slapstick you have to love. (Especially Silent Bob. He's my hero. Though Alan Rickman is a close second, and exellent in this movie, as in all others.) The serious side also really hits home for me, and probably for most people who've struggled with faith in one way or another...so, OK, for most people. :) The icky poop monster, I could do without...and I'm not sure about Alanis as God...(hence the non-perfect rating), but other than that I love it all.

Jºnªthªn:

Not Smith's best work - long, slow paced, and preachy. I don't really care to watch him figure out what all the shit he learned in catechism class really means. And really, Jay & Silent Bob are getting a little tired, don't you think?

WalkingContradiction:

This movie kinda freaked me out. Very bloody. Alanis is really creepy and annoying. Does the font on the cover of this movie make it look like it's called DOGITA or is it just me?

Samantha:

god.. WHY can't I vote this movie an 11? This is by far one of the funniest movies I own.. I love it.. Alan Rickman is THE most hillarious man in the world. It baffles me how good of an actor he is. Forget Matt,Forget Ben.. Forget anyone else.. Rickman is IT. ... Excellent plotline,[ok, sortof random at times.. but still..].. hillarious dialogue [see: Rufus/Jay on voyeurism]... and even some stuff it really makes you ponder [see:Loki/Nun on The Walrus and the Carpenter].. I'm gonna go watch this now:)
