Review of "Monty Python's Life of Brian" |
Information:What's the movie's name? Monty Python's Life of Brian What genre is this film?Comedy Give a short summary of this movie:Monty Python's most underrated laughfest. Reviews:A true classic -- this one always gets left behind in the wake of Holy Grail, but I think this one is way funnier. I thought the first bit of this movie was great, until I got to a certain scene involving a man and not involving a fig leaf... it startled me and i stopped the movie (can you tell this was quite a few years ago? :) ) Anyway, haven't taken the time to rewatch it, but the first bit was great! They were sacreligious when sacrelige wasn't cool. :-) I don't know how to intelligently encapsulate this film, so I'll just say it's my favorite of the Python films and regale you with random quotes from it:
"lead by a star? lead by a bottle, more like it!" "alms for an ex leper?" "where's the fetus gonna gestate? in a box?" "rewease bwian!" "yes, we are all individuals!" "i'm brian! and so is my wife!" Mmm...sacrilicious. If you haven't already seen this -- or any of the Python films -- get the to a video store immediately. On of their funniest (and most linear) works. The movie follows Brian (Graham), a reluctant messiah figure who's life parallels Jesus'. Great locations, lot's of funny bits, and more entertaining than the new testament. Monty Python did something interestingly blastphamist: They did a movie that Parodied the life of Jesus. Interestingly enough, it really wasn't blastphamous, and it was quite funny!
