Discussion: What's your drug of choice?
Andrea Krause · 22 years, 6 months ago
It's a toss-up between caffeine and food. But food is actually something I need to live and I just get a high off of certain varieties of it. :) Caffeine I don't need to live, I'm just an addict.

Gotta have my Mountain Dew every morning on my drive to work. The suckitude of being a caffeine addict but hating coffee and tea. :)
Shelly Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
hard choice in-deeeedy!!

i agree with angie re: the absence of chocolate{though i don't partake in that as much but i -do- love it}

where was the 'all of the above' option?? *g*
Andrea Krause · 22 years, 6 months ago
And you pretty much couldn't pay me to smoke, drink, or do illegal drugs. :)

sheryls · 22 years, 6 months ago
What about SSRI's?
Andrea Krause Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
That would probably be "other" :)
sheryls Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
ok. but sometimes, even if there's an "other" category, we're still like "but where's Pete Best?"
Andrea Krause Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
And, really, where IS Pete Best? Gotta be someone's drug of choice! :) Probably Gordon.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
I plead the fifth
Andrea Krause Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
Aha! And he's the fifth Beatle! Thou art caught! :) (OK, he may not be THE 5th Beatle but depending on the way you look at it he's A 5th Beatle...aw hell...:) )
goovie is married! Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
SSRIs represent! Um. Or not.
Michael (foof) Maki Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
Heh. I'm not sure about the recreational possibilities behind SSRIs...
A.J. Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
Since SSRI's have side effects like inhibited sexual arousal I would think they wouldn't be too good for recreation.
Mamalissa! Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
ooh- are we doing a role call?

Over here! Over here!
sheryls Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
oh, that makes me think of another poll ;)
Jºnªthªn Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
Problem is most SSRIs are adddictive, or not addictive, make you happy, or sad, or sleep less, or sleep more, or eat less, or eat more, or....
J · 22 years, 6 months ago
Hardcore straight edge here!

no drinking, drugs, animal products, processed or preserved crap thank you
J · 22 years, 6 months ago

I take my tea like my revenge sweet and hot!

herbal tea though no caffine
Misch Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
Okay, now I'm in the mood for a mug of tea on this chilly autumn afternoon.

Make me go succumb to my addictions... but, then again, it's herbal (celestial seasonings Kiwi Strawberry), and no caffiene there ;-)
Eri Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
Strawberry? Good choice. ;)
zil · 22 years, 6 months ago
oOhow I wished you'd lift the phone, fun is fun, but not alone Oo

I am addicted to... frank sinatra (and many other things). back when i had purple hair and piercings in my face I used to freak people out with my music choices... I guess it didn't seem like a punk bitch should be listening to a crooning artist out of the 40's & 50's. I'm telling you he makes my knee turn to jello... jello that needs to dance! *boogie woogie*
zil Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
*sigh*... not just one knee. both of em! damn my sausage fingers. although thinking of just one half of me dancing is pretty funny.
Andrea Krause Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
It makes me think of Labyrinth with the Fireys when the leg of one of them starts tapping to the music and the Firey looks confusedly down at it and it keeps dancing until it detatches itself and dances away. :)

God I love that movie.

I'd like to change my choice from food to david bowie
Andrea Krause Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
My sister and I had huge crushes on him when we were younger and watched that movie practically once a day. And we'd pause and go frame by frame over certain scenes where he was really cute.

I feel dirty.
sheryls Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
oh. er, you to? ;)

i think i still do that.

*runs*

although, those grey pants are kind of scary.
Eri Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
Those grey pants are -terrifying-. They seriously could give me nightmares. ;)
J Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
isnt david bowie a food?
Snarki_Fru · 22 years, 6 months ago
ye Gods... you forgot Chocolate. It is a food group unto itself, an addictive vice unto itself... it is the substance of the Gods...
Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate.
nate... · 22 years, 6 months ago
oO What's your drug of choiiicee? Well, what have you got? I don't go brooke... and I do it a lot... Oo
nate... Back · 22 years, 6 months ago

Still an excellent song (and album) though.

How is it that Moxy Fruvous isn't a choice?
Drea · 22 years, 6 months ago
Caffeine... wondrous, blessed, *blessed* caffeine.. can't tell you how many classes it got me through, particularly those oh so wonderful 2 hr 8:00am Income Tax ones ;> It's also helpful for morning, afternoon or evening work shifts *g*

i find it very hard to believe that i am the only smoker on fhdc. maybe no one else is all about the lung cancer thing.... although there's a few of you who are destroying your livers. :op
Talcott Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
A friend of mine described me as having the worst second-hand problem he's ever seen :D
What can I say, all of my writer-friends here in BG smoke, plus I've been around it all my life. Granted it's not that I'm actually in it for the second hand smoke, but it doesn't bother me at all and there is something oddly comforting about it. Aside from the health issues (which no one denies), I associate smoke with a lot of the good things in my life (my dad, friends, weird literary conversations before class). I tend not to smoke (execpt in rare cases), but aside from that minor point, I'm pretty much one of the smokers.

Only FHDC can make me feel like one of the bad kids ;)
Brian Dinsky Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
weird literary conversations, eh? *someone* voted "Something of Questionable Legality" :-)
Talcott Back · 22 years, 5 months ago
What?

Just because I'm a long-haired poet, who likes the smell of smoke and listens to folk music... ;)

Nah, I voted late, and decided my other big vice (caffine) already had enough votes, so I decided to be the second nicotine vote.

sheryls Back · 22 years, 6 months ago
i USED to smoke, and now i enjoy second-hand unless it's in my car - i let people smoke in my car, no problem, but once they've smoked like 50 cigarettes in there i start to feel sick.

i miss smoking a lot and still enjoy the smell. but if it gets too thick i makes me ill.
Rachel Beck · 22 years, 5 months ago
Sleep is tasty and cheap, though it can be very hard to come by. And done wrong, it can cause a nasty hangover. Ah, my night job!
nate... Back · 22 years, 5 months ago
Sleep is a poor substitute for caffeine.
Brian Dinsky · 22 years, 5 months ago
i prefer choice 5, sometimes followed by choice 4, then usually followed by choice 2. "THESE...are the days of our lives."
