Fruvous Cassettes Free to Good Home

Discussion: Fruvous Cassettes Free to Good Home
dave "buh" · 16 years, 5 months ago
Hi Frubies,

I have three Fruvous cassettes free to a good home:

1. "Wood" Cassette Sampler (Its Too Cold, Present Tense Tureen, Laika-Live in Halifax)
2. King of Spain - BJ Don't Cry - Gulf War Song ("for promotional use")
3. "Indie Tape" new in plastic wrap (KoS, MBLABOA, BJ, Gulf, Eggs, Drinking Song)

These are all official, original Fruvous releases not bootleg copies.

Alas, I no longer own a tape player...

Did I thank you? Something tells me that in all the confusion in my life I forgot to. Thanks.

The "Wood" Cassette Sampler sounds good--I've been curious to hear that live version of Laika.

Thank you! It's really unique and beautiful.

Also, about the second cassette--the King of Spain - BJ Don't Cry - Gulf War Song ("for promotional use")
Are the tracks on the cassette the Indie or Bargainville versions?
dave "buh" Back · 16 years, 5 months ago
Well, that is a good question, I dont' have a tape player to tell.
On the inside of the cassette sleeve it says something like "if you liked this, pick up our new album Bargainville".

I had that second tape. The versions are identical to the Indie cassette. Almost. In "King of Spain," they spliced over "Hey Bush! Hey Yeltsin!" with the two words "Bill Clinton!" So it was "Bill Clinton, got problems? You phone me."

I have converted this tape to mp3 these days, so if you want any of it, let me know and I'll post it to a page on Savefile.com so everyone can download it at their leisure (for I think a period of 60 days before the site automatically deletes them.

Kinda hoping that some1 in this thread is still around on this site since the live version of "The Drinking Song" from the indie cassette has been my most wanted mp3 for many years. Haven't heard it in 15 years!!! Any chance I can still get it?

Marty Cosgrove Back · 13 years, 6 months ago

Let me check and see if I have the KoS thing. I know I had a copy of a copy on cassette at one point. I have a lot of things I've since converted to MP3. I'll post something here if I find it.

I GREATLY appreciate it! Even if it does end up being a mp3 conversion of a 3rd generation as you say it would still be better than none at all. Thanks =)

Marty Cosgrove Back · 13 years, 5 months ago

Sorry, Dave. I didn't see anything on my hard drive. It is still possible I may have something in cassette or CD form. If I find it, I will repost here.

Did you want that Wood Sampler?

Drop me a private msg with your address and I will mail it to you

Could I get a copy of the spliced KoS track? I'll now have to keep an eye out for the Wood sampler, since I never realized that was a live track.
