2008 FRFF Performers

   Discussion: 2008 FRFF Performers
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 17 years, 1 month ago
Here who is confirmed for FRFF 2008. The Strangelings, John Gorka, Clayfoot Strutters, Vance Gilbert, Lowen & Navarro, and Gandalf Murphy & the Slambovian Circus of Dreams I hope some new acts are booked. I'm of course delighted over the Strangelings coming back. They are now my favorite band and the only one that I really travel for.
Bender Back · 17 years, 1 month ago
I guess I was right about hell freezing over.  No EFO?
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 17 years, 1 month ago
This is just who is confirmed so far. I'll bet credits to navy beans that EFO will be there.

By the way the confirmed Budgiedome performers are We're About 9, Anthony Da Costa, and Red Molly. That is just about as obvious as EFO playing the main festival. There will be new people. I just don't know who yet.
Amalia T. Back · 16 years, 11 months ago
EFO said in their monthly mailer that they would be performing, and are excited about it.

i have heard that susan werner will not be invited (since she was there in 2005 and 2006). PROTEST!
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 16 years, 11 months ago
Crooked Still has been booked! That made me very happy.
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 16 years, 11 months ago
It is now official Red Molly is playing FRFF. Well they already were booked for the The Budgiedome but now they will also being playing one of the auxiliary stages, the one they call the Main Stage.
nate... · 16 years, 11 months ago
Vance again! Yay! I really hope that means we get a real performance skills workshop.
John J. Ryan Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
They seriously need to move the Vance Gilbert performance workshop from the family tent to the workshop tent.  It's ALWAYS overcrowded!

TAP YOUR FOOT!
nate... Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Agreed!! Though it is nice to be under the tent there some days....

There was no "wish they'd never show up again" option, so I had to just leave the Nields off my list. :D

Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
I thought of a negative option but decided to be nice.
nate... Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
heh. I just had to put it out there. :)
Misch Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Well, there's always strikethrough

;-)
ChrisChin is Getting Old Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Dar Williams is also confirmed for Saturday.
nate... · 16 years, 10 months ago
Can I just say how sad I am that there is no sign of Jim at all yet? Either solo or band? :(
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
He's doing a house concert tomorrow. I can't go of course because it is the first night of Pesach. he hasn't played near NYC since he played in my living room.
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 16 years, 10 months ago
Courtesy of my friend Jake.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
FRFF is catching up to the Budgiedome, David Massengill and Jack Hardy played there last year.

Martin Sexton is playing. That means Toby will be there!

I have never heard of Mortal Beasts and Deities but I'm intrigued.

Most importantly I'm not sure if I can go to FRFF in good conscience. Did you notice who is missing from this list? Who has been replaced by his arch rival, Roger the Jester?

There is no HOOPOE THE CLOWN!!!!!!

I'm devastated.
goovie is married! Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
according to google, mortal beasts and deities are the costumed characters--the doves, the other birds, the weirdo monk dude with the sousaphone. it's nice that they're getting billed this year, considering that they're always around.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Those are costumes? I'm so disappointed. I just thought they were birds and monks that liked folk music.
nate... Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
I am glad I have an awesome camp. :)
Songbill Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
YUP!  'Can't say I'm blown away by this lineup but that's not really why I go anymore anyway.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
I have pleasantly surprised by the lineup. While there is nobody new that blows me away it isn't just a collection of the usual suspects which is what I expected for the 20th Anniversary.
nate... Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Huh... seems like the usual suspects to me.....
Misch Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
I'm forseeing a Summers Eve Song Swap of:
Eliza Gylkison / John Gorka /  Patty Larkin / Vance Gilbert

A girl named Becca Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Is that prediction based on your psychic skills or your literacy skills?
Misch Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Literacy.
Melanie the Goob Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
This confirms my misery of having to miss Sunday.  Railroad Earth and Eileen Ivers have escaped me.

I wonder how much it will cost to delay my flight another day?
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
It doesn't hurt to find out. Eileen often comes down to WFUV when I'm volunteering and she and her husband are the nicest people.
Gordondon son of Ethelred · 16 years, 10 months ago
Anne tried to get Fruvous to play this year. They said "no."
Bender Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
That's because they're not together anymore.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Really? Since when?
Bender Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
For the better part of a decade, now ;P
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
It wasn't the worst part of the decade?
Bender Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
Depends on who you ask.  I, for one, spent the better part of that better part out of Dubya's grasp.
Songbill · 16 years, 10 months ago
Is Roger the Jester like Roger the Shrubber?
Melanie the Goob Back · 16 years, 10 months ago
That's what I was thinking. :)
