FR 2007 Showcase

I know of at least one act that has heard they are in the 2007 showcase. does anyone have the full list?

Wow, you made me realize that I forgot all the artists that I knew were playing.

Zoe Mulford will be playing. She won the songwriting contest at SMAF in 2006.

Anthony da Costa will be playing on the showcase. He just was selected as a Kerrville New Folk Artist Winner and is 16. 16!

Just as long as he doesn't get the Jordin "She's only SEVENTEEN!" Sparks treatment.

those of you who have been to SMAF will be familiar with Jennings & Keller and Nick Annis. Both are in the FR Showcase this year.

Oh cool, I know Ryan Fitzsimmons. He's a Mulvey fan. And I've played a show with Joe Jencks before. I've heard of Edie Carey, but I can't place where.

edie carey was on the FR mainstage a couple of years ago with New York Live, and has been a headliner at places like club passim, caffe lena, and major venues all over the country for severl years. (so much for "emerging" artists. joe jencks is really great, and very much an old time labor-oriented folk singer. siobhan quinn is a truly great vocalist. nick annis has been winning singer-songwriter competitions all over, and some of you may have seen him at SMAF. he has recently moved from FL to VA and is becoming more known in the NE.

I'll vouch for them.  They opened for Vance Gilbert at the Minstrel Coffeehouse.  According to the people at The Minstrel, they wanted someone to open who could musically stand up to the power of Vance Gilbert.

I am not that familiar with most of the emerging artists. Which ones would you suggest I invite to the Budgiedome?

The plan right now is to try something different and have a Thursday afternoon session where most of the emerging artists would play. It would sort of be an emerging artist preview tour. Mark Berube, the husband of Red Molly's Carolann Solebello will be playing the afternoon session too.


Anthony DeCosta and Nick Annis have already agreed to play and I've invited Zoe Mulford. Nick has invited Jennings and Keller.
