so. i've been wanting to respond to this for awhile.

i don't think you're being selfish or ungracious wrt the co-worker thing. i've been trying to figure out the best way to epress exactly why you are justified in your feelings of shaftedness but they are not coming to me.

i guess it's just that in terms of senority and current contributions you are far ahead of her and it should be reflected in some way or another.

i know your manager has been supportive in many ways, but is this an issue you could bring up with her? even in a roundabout sort of way? say, asking in what respects you are short of a 5? i dunno.

also, i don't think this is a case you basing your self-worth on being better than others, this is you desiring to be recognized by your employer (imho). and they are not recognizing or appreciating your efforts if you are being ranked the same as someone who does not contribute an equal amount (not that she isn't doing her job, i'm sure she is and doing it well). or at least it does appear that they are.

anyway. that's enough lecturing from me. *loves*
