i've never been a fan of vanilla. i like other things in vanilla, but if we're talking plain i'll go with chocolate :D
Kris 'engaged' Bedient · 18 years, 3 months ago
In ice cream, if I have to choose, I go with vanilla. If I can, I will go with a scoop of chocolate on top and a scoop of vanilla on the bottom. In soft serve, I usually just go straight for the twist,

In most other things, I prefer chocolate. It is harder to find things with good vanilla flavoring.

Ice cream = only vanilla, never chocolate.

But otherwise, mmm. Chocolate.

Ice cream = only vanilla, never chocolate.

*gasp* You ice cream racist! :-)

why do chocolate and vanilla always get treated as if they're opposites?

I love vanilla ice cream. not so big on the chocolate or any of its varieties. but I still maintain those preferences aren't related.
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
They are related because people think they are related. Which actually no different than anything else. If nothing else those are the two most popular flavors. It is like asking, why was it always The Beatles or the Rolling Stones? Sure there were other bands but we will always associate them.

And that's the ONLY vanilla out there, as far as I'm concerned.

omg yes, with the bugs in it. *drool*

See I'm in the vanilla camp, but for me it's all about Turkey Hill Philadelphia Style Vanilla Bean.
Rimbo Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
Oooh, that sounds interesting. From what establishment might I be able to purchase said item?
Rachel Marie aka RAI Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
Acme. Or Genuardi's. Or Superfresh. Or Shop & Bag. Or Giant. Or Path Mark. Et cetera.

Is it just me, or is the Philadelphia area the only one where a giant grocery store chain hasn't come and eaten all the other ones? In Rochester it was Wegmans, in North Carolina it was the Food Lion, and don't get me started on the Piggly Wigglies.
A girl named Becca Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
I dunno...at least in my part of NC, Lowe's Foods is putting up a perrty good fight against the Food Lions. I can't understand why Piggly Wiggly still exists, both the other chains are SO far superior. My kingdom for a Wegman's....
Paul D. Beasi Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
Well around here I can buy it at either Stop & Shop or Big Y. If your location in your profile is accurate, then I think you might be out of luck. I checked for locations within 150 miles of you and nothing came up.

Dang. Well, I'm usually out-of-state with this band, anyway. I'll just pick some up this summer.
Rimbo Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
Hee, hee.

I did the location search, too (because I'm untrusting). I like that when they can't find a store within 150 miles, they suggest that "You might want to consider extending the distance that you are willing to travel to find our products."

Hmm, . . . is that distance not long enough?
Kris 'engaged' Bedient Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
I think you might have a hard time getting it home before it melted.
Rimbo Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
Whaddya mean "getting it home?" I usually carry spoons in my car. Car-spoons!
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
Spoons? That's what tongues are for.
Rimbo Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
. . . for spoons? :)
Gordondon son of Ethelred Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
That was a lot more innocent than I was afraid I'd get as a response :-)
Rimbo Back · 18 years, 3 months ago
Yeah, I'm innocent.

By the way, it does my heart good to see that no one's voted for "I don't like either" yet. Either that, or it does my heart bad . . .

CAR-SPOONS!

I like really good quality vanilla ice cream with greally good quality dark chocolate chips.

Chocolate and vanilla both vary greatly in quality and style and thus the question is, in my opinion, not an entirely fair one.
