this is such a pissing contest. heh

I don't really feel I need any more. As it is I shrink everything to teeny text because I can't stand things being big. Just...nothing I do on a computer justifies needing a freaky-big monitor.
nate... · 20 years, 1 month ago
It didn't even occur to me that this would turn into a "mine's bigger than yours" thing... I was just curious to know average size... er... that sounds bad.

Well, point is, several years ago, I'd bet we would've had a lot more 14 and 15".... now the average is probably going to be 17".

but hoping to eventually upgrade to 21 or more. the problem is that most of the 21+ monitors that support 1600x1200 resolution are tremendously expensive.

what I really want is a wall mountable 30 inch, though. that would be almost as big as my TV...
nate... Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
there are 21+ monitors that *don't* support 1600x1200??? How would THAT be useful?
lawrence Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
yeah, a lot of flat panels only go up to 1280x1024. it's completely lame.

this is why I like the idea of the 30 inch monitor - its resolution is 2560x1600. now that's a lot of screen real estate. :)
nate... Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
Indeed! yeah, my dell 2001FP goes up to 1600x1200.... and that's where I leave it. :)
lawrence Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
hrm. that's not a bad price. a lot better than the $3000 Apple wants for the 30 incher. :)
nate... Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
*nods*
It's very reasonable... and I *looove* the monitor.

You can also often find sales on it that bring it down to the $500's if you keep an eye on this site

lawrence Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
well, I can also get deals through my office. (and that url looks WAY too much like 'goatse.cx'... :)
nate... Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
LOL! Naw, gotapex is good stuff, unlike the... other link you mentioned. :P
ChrisChin is Getting Old · 20 years, 1 month ago
It's a 19 inch CRT that takes up a good chunk of real estate on my desk. I eventually want to get a 19" LCD.

15", but it's a laptop. Titanium G4 Powerbook. Oh yeah. I got it off of eBay. Because I could never afford a new one. It ended up being about $650. I split it with my parents for Christmas, and used all my money. So now I'm broke. I had just enough to buy another Frvous album, by the way. I should get some credit for that, using my last ten bucks to buy Live Noise. I love my Powerbook. *hugs laptop*

At work? Dual Dell 2005FPW. 20.1" diagonals on that, baby.
nate... Back · 20 years, 1 month ago
Then, YOU don't have that.
Your work does.

You clearly misread the question. ;)
