Poll: How many hours on the avg. day do you Wall it up?

If lurking on the wall counts, then the way I voted (at least an hour) is the closest.. I'm usually on the wall anywhere from a couple mins to hours depending on what else I'm doing online, and what the topic of conversation is at the time :)

Until the end of August, I think I was in the multiple hours category...now that I have classes and homework, I lurk often, but rarely contribute....still, as even this puts me online more than I have time to be, I said "more than I work."

I'm not on the wall often, but fruhead.com is my default (is that the word?) on the web.

Now that I'm unemployed, it's pretty easy to say "more than I work".

fhdc is my home page at home and work...i don't usually powerwall it, but i spend a disproportionate amount of time during the day playing the click-refresh game on the main page.

Ditto on the click-refresh. Our server here logs every webpage you visit, so when the wall was refresh-based only, I ended up with 1000s of Fruheads on my account. That kinda looks bad at work.

fwiw, the new streaming wall only "refreshes" once every 5 minutes, but the "who's on" frame refreshes every 30 seconds or so. maybe i should take sheryl's idea and cname the server to "definitelyworkrelated.com" ;-)

See, like, I think we need to clarify here.
I almost never use the powerwall.... because I like having access to the other things that are on the main page.
Usually, I just F5 often on there.

So if we're saying how often do I use the powerwall, almost never.
If we're asking how often we use the WALL ... then constantly!

but your browser presumably supports having multiple windows open, right? I usually keep one powerwall window open and then do other stuff - that's why even when I'm on the powerwall, I may be listed on the main page or something else.

Yes, but when I'm at work, I average (counts) 11 applications open.
Plus two browser windows for modem teching.

So, having more than one FHDC window open just uses up more taskbar space than I'm willing to use.

There are things other than FHDC on the internet?

Not besides Diaryland and Buffy slash.

I used to be on the wall every day for hours at a time, then I stopped and I dont know why. Why, world? WHY!?!?!

ya know.. does anyone but me find it REALLY amusing that someone who visits FHDC often enough to reply to a poll would say that they're "too cool" for the wall?
