Let's say The Beatles are still around. What Frvous songs would you like them to try their hands at?

"when she talks," "the norbals (reprise)," and "bad jim."

um. i mean, "incredible medicine show" and "half as much."

the entire You Will Go To The Moon album
and they should take Thornhill andcompletely re-write it. i think that album could be alot better with just some (alot of)good old fashioned tweaking.
wouldnt hurt to throw a sitar in there either haha.
but really they could really do a realgood job rewriting such songs as sad girl, earthquakes, and downsizing (that song would be nice played on the sitar wouldn't it?)

OMG the Beatles doing the Norbals! I can just hear George's Sitar on it.

I can see John going nutso on this question ;-)

...and I should probably answer it.

"Half as Much" came into my mind first because it's so influenced. I'm going to disagree with Derek on YWGGTM, though "Get in the Car" is a worthy successor to "Drive My Car" "Ticket to Ride" and "Day Tripper" (which remains my cell phone ring). It's tempting to suggest throwing a sitar on Sahara and No No Raja, but that would take away from the Persian flavo(u)r of the songs.

I'd actually prefer the Beatles to take a stab at Wood.

Down From Above - John
Horseshoes - Paul, extended George solo
Fly - John, a la "Don't let me Down"
The Present Tense Tureen - Paul
Poor Mary Lane - John
On Her Doorstep - Paul
Misplaced - Paul
It's Too Cold - John
Bed and Breakfast - Paul, George on sitar
Nuits de Rve - George, fully orchestrated
Sad Today - Ringo
Organ Grinder - John

"The Present Tense has been, luv."

I could actually see Lawrence producing something like this.  He has good ideas about what instrument would go where for each song.  If I had the time and the studio, I'd take this on as a project.

Paul on "When She Talks"?

So here is the thing. I don't think they'd cover the Fruvous songs that we think of as being Beatleish because, hey the Beatles did that stuff better. It would more likely be something weirder like Authors or Pisco. I can hear the Beatles doing either of them. Paul would sing an awesome Nuits.
