I love the kitties! As if that wasn't obvious. :) Though I'm a borderline "anything as long as it's cute and fuzzy" person, because I love dogs too. It's just that given the choice I'd surround myself with 6 cats and maybe have 1 dog. :)

Dogs hate me. Cats love me. But I'm too incompetent to take care of myself, let alone anyone else, so after my betta fish died this year, I've sort of given up on pets.

Same here. I used to be a paperboy. The dogs would be able to smell me coming a mile away. They still do... though one of my former cow orkers has these two adorable dogs. They are the sweetest dogs I've ever seen. :-)

Well, I'm a cat person at heart. Sure, they're standoffish and such, but when a cat likes you, you know it likes you (well, or it wants food).
But then again, I also have a slight phobia of dogs (only slight, but I still jump when I hear a bark), so I might be a bit biased.

Still, rats are a close second to cats. Sure, they're small and not as independant, but they are just as cute and more active. Besides, nothing beats having a rat climb onto your shoulder so you can make "Pi-Rat" jokes :D

Sure! Bats are just rats with wings. I imagine they would make fine pets.
Gnats are small, but they'll follow you around.
I've always thought a goat could be a good pet. I wouldn't need a garbage disposal anymore!
I don't know if I hat would be a pet, but I could make my goat wear a hat.

most any animal that presents itself to me asking for my affection i likely to get it, so long as its not diseased, overly filthy or attacking me.

Not that I mind, being on myself, but I'm suprised how many of us are cat people. I wonder what the connection is?

Humans are actually quite easy to train, not very time consuming :)
