It's frustrating because when I WAS a teenager I barely had any acne ever. Now it keeps appearing on my chin.

It keeps appearing on my chin too, so I wash it a�lot with soap that dries out my skin, but then I have�to use face lotion. And the zits keep on coming

oh yeah. I forgot. Try teatree oil. It's all-natural and it's quite good on pimples. Also you can put some Vitamin E on to minimize any scarring.

I have teatree oil *somewhere*...maybe I can find it. It's supposedly good for ears and since I'm so prone to ear infections I bought some. Smells NARSTY though. :)

I was going to suggest tea tree oil as well.

also, you can often find face washes, or other oinments that include tea tree oil as an ingredient, they usually don't have that strong tea tree smell.

i had bad acne as a teenager for a bit, i found leaving my face alone (in the sense of using medication or excessive touching/obsessing) and washing my hands frequently during the day helped. i think it's all about balance. being stressed doesn't help, overwashing hair doesn't help, makeup probably isn't terribly great for acne either... i can't comment about that either way though.

do you mean allergic to acne medication in the sense of hormonal treatment or in the sense of using hydrogen peroxide (or whatever the oxy-products use) on your face? i had an ex that used diane35 and swore by it for acne; i'm not sure if that's what you were refering to or not

I'm not even sure which ingredient gets me reacting but I've had it happen both with clearasil and a mary kay acne cream thing. Something in it causes my face to freak out, get super-hot and flushed, develop a rash, and develop this horrid rough texture. Way more icky than the pimples in the first place, so I just deal. :) I wish I knew which specific ingredient hurts me but it's the kind of trial and error thing that could be very unpleasant for me while trying to find it.

I dunno what's in it and I've never actually used it, but I've been hearing wonderful things about the Burt's Bees acne stuff. Supposedly it has fennel or something. Which...ew. But hey, if it works...

... witch hazel makes for a light astringent. I use it when my eczema is freaking out and yet I have a really oily face, because it helps with the oily and doesn't make the eczema worse.

so. there's another option.
