depends on where you go.. best theatre downtown is $9.

its usually less outside the city because its a. not in the city and b. seattle has some sort of entertainment tax (i.e. if its fun, its a sin and therefore must be taxed).

The big SilverCity cineplex chain charges$13.50 for a regular evening film. Cheap Tuesday is 8 bucks. What prices for stadium seating!

Tinseltown, the big multiplex downtown, is only 11 bucks with $6 Tuesdays and matinees. Pretty good prices for a Tuesday - and stadium seating too.

The mom & pop cinemanearby is 8 bucks regularly and 5 bucks on Tuesday. They have 6 screens, play new releases and even some arty films,NO commercials, and use real butter on popcorn. This place has a loyal following, even though the seats are not as fancy schmancy as either cineplex.

Annnd.. the bargain cinema chain charges 7 bucks regularly and 4 bucks onTuesdays and matinees.

In Columbus it's about $6-$8 depending on the theater and/or student status.

Bowling Green is closer to $5, and Toledo was a bit more than Columbus. The big, fancy, theater in Toledo (of which type we have lots of down here) is $9 and had no discounts.

If that's Rochester, NY, it varies with where you're going... Tinsletown is up to $7.50 evenings, and $7.75 on Friday and Saturday. Regal Henrietta is just a flat $7.75.

Wow! That's really cheap. (I apologize for not ignoring you. Oops. When you change your screen name this will be cryptic. Hee!)

multiplex theater: Tuesday is the cheap day - about 5.50-6.50 (depending on seat)
Weekends may be up to 1.50 more expensive. There's an extra charge when the movie is longer than 2h.
You can get a free discount card. When you watch 5 movies within 2 months you get a movie for free (but the selection is limited)

If you go to one of the oversized expensive theatres you can expect to pay around $12.50 or$13.50Canadian for regular tickets. At some places like Fairview Mall you can see movies for as low as $7.00 regular or $4.25 for a matine. Once at Yorkdale I literally paid $16 to see one movie. It's nuts.
