New Shmu

So I've been on Fruhead for about 2 weeks now, but I just wanted to take this very special opportunity to say hello to all who have been denied the pleasure of my acquaintanceship prior to this point. You call all relax now, as I am here.

But seriously, Fruvous rocks. My supplier is a big fan and has been hooking me up all over the place.

Well I don't know you yet, but you certainly don't *sound* like a shmu!

What is a shmu anyway? According to this website: http://damoo.csun.edu:8888/2000�it is a wizard. hmmmm, I am not a wizard.

Here is a lovely poem I found about Shmu:

Shmu...
Shmu maloo
SHmu maloo had a silly hairdoo
and his pocket held many a jems.

Shmu maloo with his silly hairdoo
walked into a sunflower's stem
The sunflower fell, and shmu had no way to tell
If ever the sunflower would mend.

Shmu was sad, for he had been bad,
And broken the sunflower's stem.
So he went on a search to find a bird
That might have some tape to vend.

Shmu maloo hiked up to the loo
to relieve himself a bit,
When lo and behold! As pure as gold,
a finch with some tape on a perch.

Shmu cried to the finch,
"Just lend me a pinch
To fix the broken rose."
To which the finch replied, "Beep."

Shmu stood by the loo, perplexed and bewildered
as he tried to decipher the code.
When he unscrambled the word,
he drew from his pocket the gems
to give to the bird.

Shmu maloo waited and waited,
but the bird just flew away.
And when he looked toward his palm
all that he found
was some lint...
and a broken sunflower stem.

I don't have any broken sunflower stems, so that must not be me either. It also stands for Shanghi Medical University, or Small Happy Mingling Units.

Does anyone else remember the schmoos in Li'l Abner? that's the comic not the film.

I've only seen the film version and I don't remember it from that. As a kid I could watch that film over and over again.
